It is a messy cycle: Girl and boy find each other attractive, they get together and break up after problems arise. Repeat this over and over again till you find the right partner. Surely it is not that hard to tell or realise from the beginning that you will not want to spend the rest of your life with the person that you are contemplating a relationship with. Yet people still go through with the relationship anyway. Has society become so desperate that it is willing to sacrifice their hearts for artificial or short-term intimacy?

i think society has become too deperate and i think that people, some people anyhow, enjoy having short flings with the opposite gender....i think it is pointless because who needs the heartbreaks....

hmmmm i think you may be wrong here... i dont think all people go into relationships knowing it will end this way in the beginning although i know what you are saying... but i also have experienced different... i was engaged to someone really thought we where going to get married i mean he asked me like ten times before i said yes... i just wanted to be sure and waite a while not that i DIDNT think he was the one i DID think he was the one i just thought he would change his mind and run...well a couple weeks after i said yes we got into one of our 'normal' fights i thought we were still together i guess he didnt ... he found someone else and moved on....i never got over it....he told me if he ever left me he would come back someday when i least expected it i still beleive it i guess...stupid hu...anyways....that was 9 yrs ago and i have dated for 5-6yrs...

Maybe they're judging from outward appearances and end up having nothing in common whatsoever. It's a fact that people need to have something in common to be together.

I disagree. It's not always easy to tell if this is someone you may want to spend your life with. It takes time to get to know someone on that level. I think that risk of getting hurt is well worth the love you recieve.

Sometimes when two people get together they are just tired of being lonely so they take what they can get to help ease the lonelienss wether it be good or bad.
