Can anyone give me a Reference to where this Islamic Saying is "Suicide Bomber gets 72 virgins in Paradise."

It seems such a popular Islamic Saying going around over here, so plz, if someone has a Reference to Any Islamic Book in which this Saying is Present, then DO tell me and enlighten me, otherwise dont spread misconceptions abt Islam. u should be able to back up ur comments with proof, otherwise they just become FALSE Allegations.

I have heard about all those internet sites who get a kick out of posting the wrong translations of the Quran on their websites. I think they got it from there.

another ps. Many translators of the Qur’an have translated the word hoor as ‘beautiful maidens’ especially in the Urdu translations. If hoor means ‘beautiful maidens’ or girls, then they are meant only for the men. Hence, what will the women get if they enter Paradise?
3. Meaning of Hoor
The word hoor is actually the plural of ahwar (applicable to man) and of haura (applicable to woman) and signifies a person having eyes characterized by hauar a special quality bestowed upon a good soul, male or female in paradise and it denotes the intense whiteness of the white part of the spiritual eye.

I'm a Muslim and there is no such thing as 72 virgins anywhere in the Qur'an or the Hadith.
The first time I heard this was from the American media.

I tell you this is simply a stupid myth. It's negative propaganda against Islam.

Plus Islam doesn't talk about suicide bombers, in fact anyone who kills innocent life including his own is in no way a martyr.

In the Qur'an it says that God doesn't like any aggressors.
So the BUSH administration, The ISRAELI government and the suicide bombers are all terrorists.

In his 1996 Fatwa declaring war on the US, bin Laden quotes a hadith passage (Muhammad’s words and deeds outside of the Quran) that has the prophet describing heaven for the martyrs fallen in a holy war. The first moment blood gushes, they are guaranteed Islamic heaven. They receive crowns, jewels, and seventy-two dark-eyed houris or beautiful maidens, for each martyr.

[A] martyr’s privileges are guaranteed by Allah; forgiveness with the first gush of his blood, he will be shown his seat in paradise, he will be decorated with the jewels of belief, married off to the beautiful ones, protected from the test in the grave, assured security in the day of judgment, crowned with the crown of dignity, a ruby of which is better than this whole world and its entire content, wedded to seventy-two of the pure Houris (beautiful women of Paradise) and his intercession on the behalf of seventy of his relatives will be accepted.

This hadith source that bin Laden cites puts together different Quranic passages describing Islamic heaven, complete with beautiful virgins (Suras 44:51-56; 52:17-29; 55:46-78), with those describing the immediate reward of heaven for jihadist martyrs

You must also ask yourself, if Islam doesn't teach these things, then why is it that so many Muslims are willing to strap a bomb on their body and blow themselves up?

There is nothing like that in Islam about 72 virgins. I get so frustrated reading it all the time, coming from Non Muslims. Dont know where they picked up that crap from.

Hi. Actually it was 72 mansions each with 72 rooms (I assume bedrooms) each room with 72 virgins. Don't think this is from the Q'uran but I have heard it before. Might just be motivational speakers with AK-47s.

Hmm, I'm not a religious scholar, but I would assume that a person who dies under jihad would be richly rewarded, because dying for Allah would be dying for the noblest cause. By sacrificing your physcial form, you would be rewarded in the Islamic Equilvanet of Heaven

In the koran. It doesnt say that in exact terms but it does say that if a holy warrior were to give his life for Islam the he shall be rewarded with 72 virgins in heaven. By giveing his life the warrior kills himself for Islam. If you read the koran, which would be very hard becuase its very long, but its in there. I dont know the page but yea.

Here are all the passages ... none that I know of speaks of 72 virgins. I believe those who are brainwashing the suicide bombers added that or interpreted the following passages to convince gullible people (who are in the depths of despair) to kill.

2:25 And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance.
