I lost 4-5 pounds a week for 3 months, totalling a complete loss of 84 pounds. Everyone told me that losing weight that fast was unhealthy, and that I'd gain it back immediately. That's been almost 4 years ago now, and not only have I kept the weight off, I'm 12 pounds lighter! I wear a size 4 now, and even in high school I wore a size 9.
I worked out very hard. No matter how much my body hurt, I made myself go to the gym. After a few weeks, it didn't really hurt anymore. It felt good. It made me feel more alive. I focused on my anger a lot, and I think that exercise helped me vent, in a way...as well as lose weight and feel better about myself. It's amazing the things that we can enjoy if only we think of it in the right way. I don't see exercise as work, but a challenge for my body.
That may or may not be a healthy means to lose weight. I'm sure it varies by opinion. My point is, lose weight however you see fit. You'll know if you are doing it the right way b/c you won't feel sick, shaky, or extremely tired. Whatever you do, however you diet and exercise, it should make you feel more alive. Give it time, and it does have this effect; you'll never want to go back to your life of junkfood and couch potato days.

To answer the first question, yes. But only if you are doing it the healthy way by eating right and exercising daily. It also depends on what you weigh to begin with. Your body will try to hold on to the weight if you are already underweight. At the beginning of any diet you loose more weight the first week cause you also loosing water weight. Eventually you will get to a plateau and not loose as much. You probably will not be able to loose exactly 3 pounds each week. It will vary. Set a weight goal you want to reach based on your age and height. Some weeks you may loose only 1 pound.Don't get discouraged though. That's just what the body does. As long as you continue a healthy lifestyle then you are more likely to keep the weight off. Loosing weight slowly over several months is better on the body then trying to starve yourself. That doesn't work long term.Once you reach your goal don't go back to your old habits.Good luck to you!!

Yes, it is healthy, as long as you are dieting in a healthy way. if your form of dieting is not eating, no no its unhealthy and wil make you gain it back quickly...screwing up your metabolism. If your dieting in a healthy way by eating fruits and vegies, 3 or 4 small meals a day and good excersize, then that is the most healthy way to go! good luck!

Yes, that is a healthy goal. Usually, they say 2 pounds a week so don't shoot for too much more than 3.

if you are not intentionally losing this weight, its not good. however you can gain it back. your weight may be a sign of parasitic worms or some unidentified illness. you should go see a doctor
