Is an Islamic state necessary from the perspective of the Quran?

And could an Islamic state be compatible with Capitalist Democracy? And are the Haddiths necessary for an Islamic state? How do the different schools of Islam treat these questions?

Yes, an Islamic State is necessary 'coz it is there only where u could establish The Shariah Law.
i dont know abt the compatability with Capatilist Democracy.
Yes, Hadiths are necessay, 'coz Our Faith is incomplete without it, as they point out to those factors which cant be found in The Holy Quran, and Hadiths also explain The Teachings in Quran.
Well these are my views, i cant say abt different schools of Islam.

Umm, well I don't know if it is necessary but i do know that if there where one, it would get over-populated and need to expand. Besides, couldn't the cities of Mekkah and Medinah be considered Islamic States because they are the Islamic holy cities. Muslims worldwide go to Mekkah for Hajj and Umrah by the millions every year.
In the Quran, They are described as the only two places on the entire planet that will be safe from the Dajjal (anti-Christ). Mekkah also doesn't let immigrants in, only pilgrims and tourists, nobody is allowed to move there, its illegal by the city.



Quran and Haddiths are definately required for the Islamic State because they provide the moral foundations and principals needed to support a proper government and it's people. The best example for this is in Spanish History, when the 'muslim infidels' conquered southern spain (Andalucia) and the entire country flourished under muslim rulers. People of all races and religions were tolerated and protected by the muslim military. It was probably the closest thing to a Utopia, ever.

I don't know anything about different schools and their thoughts but i am telling you mine.
