What do you do to overcome them? Do you find that a particular situation triggers it? Mine is riding in an automobile.

Let me get this right. I think panic attacks you said is something to do with panicking with or without reason out of fear. I would advice a deep meditation with relaxed concentration (YOGA) will do. The situatin that would trigger this may be anything from A-Z. The general reason that occurs to my mind is tension or a previous bad experience.
Tension: If we forget to do some work and thinking about may cause this fear if something else comes in our way without warning. This is loss in concentration in the current situation.
Bad Experience: For example if we had escaped from an accident or had one before there will be fear on the traffic or automobile for sometime. For some people this fear may develop to a wider extent that we may not want to ride the automobile again. This situation may be overcome in avoiding heavy traffic routes and slow down the driving speed for sometime.

I used to get them while driving and in airplanes. It took a lot of reflection, and time, but I figured I was afraid to die. My aunt passed away suddenly (she was 28). The reason of death was unknown. A car would drive close to me, then I would think "oh my God, I'm going to die." And etc. the panic attack would start. Now 2 years later, it doesn't phase me. I know when a panic attack is coming on and I can almost talk myself out of it. I say "yes, that car is driving closely, but I am in control of my vehicle. If that car came into my lane, I have a 10 ft. shoulder I could move towards." etc. When they were really bad, I tried xanax but it didn't work, I switched to ativan (they are both benzos) and ativan just worked better for me. Now I don't have to use anything!

Hi there, I just laugh about my past 3 years of panic now. I was not able to go anywhere without carrying xanax. Fear of having another attack was the most important subject of my days.When i first found joe barry's web site i started to cry because of my happiness.

My Mom Get's Them When She Gets Worried, And She Just Walks Around And Takers Her Pill. Ch'yea, My Friend Has Em Too, And She Does The Same

I used to panic when I was about to get a shot. I went into health care and was around them all the time, vaccines, procedures I was involved with, etc.
Expose yourself to this fear over and over and fight through the panic, commit your way unto the Lord and He will strengthen you and before you know it, it will be a thing of the past.

I get panic attacks. I had to get mental help because of them. I took medicine all the time but with time and effort I get them less often and control them better. I still keep my medicine with me because I panic if I don't have it. I don't take it I just want to have it close by. They really really are awful. I am sorry you have them.

Panic attacks are usually triggered by something. What is triggering them for you is the first step to help yourself. Once you figure out what is triggering them deal with that problem.

Yes! Talk with your health care provider and counseling is the best direction to take.

If I feel especially anxious I do breathing exercise and take xanax, only if needed. I have a couple but mine is flying. Talk with your doc.

Mine can be triggered by large crowds and confined spaces.
I have a friend who struggles with attacks more than I do.
Her approach to counteract them, is to relax and take good care of herself, as soon as she returns home for the day. The safe and quiet solitude helps her regain her balance. I hope you get relief from them.

Oh, bless your heart. My husband has had them for years and he denied them until it finally came to a head one day and was really bad. Now, he keeps xanax on him for those moments. His always occurs in stores, especially if they change the layout or is a big store.
