at one time the only place to buy hotdogs was at your local butchers market, they averaged out to be about ten of them to the pound, but then food giants like oscar mayer can along and made pre-packaged hot dogs, they worked out to be about 8 to a pound. i guess everyone has been too lazy to fix it
