I don't know the answer to the first question. The 2nd one, there is nothing that is a for sure thing to help start a person into labor unless you are in the hospital and they start you with pitocin.
Some things that might help is sex. The seman actually has natural prostaglandins that help soften the cervix. Sometimes in the hospital when they are inducing labor they use a prostaglandin gel on the cervix to soften it. So basically having sex can help soften the cervix.
I have also heard that sometimes if you give yourself an enema, then have sex that can induce labor if your body is ready for it. the contractions from having a bowel movement can stimulate contractions.
It isn't wise to do anything though to try to induce labor until after you are past 38 weeks.
Hope this helps.

1. Brick city is just "Brick" and its in Ocean county next to Toms River.
2. Try going for walks in the evening. Keep active, it may help.

First question, I have no idea. Second question. What I did to speed the process up is I would walk up and down the steps alot. I would walk really fast when I would take a walk outside or in the house. I guess you would say ,power walking. Worked for me!!!! What ever you do , don't jump up and down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That baby is going to come when it's ready, no matter WHAT you do. I say this from experience. With both of my children, I was so big by the end that people thought I was having twins, I was hot (both are summer babies) and in soooo much pain, but nothing I did brought on labor and I tried it all! By the way, my 1st weighed 9lbs. 1/2oz. and was 1 day late, my 2nd weighed 9lbs 3oz and was 2 weeks early.

If you are only 8 months you don't need to speed anything up. Let the baby finish cookin'.
Sex, walking, or nipple stimulation are all safe things that can speed things up once you are past your 38 week mark.

The baby will come when it's ready. Just relax, don't have an anxiety attack or try all these remedies. Most of them don't make anything better. Once you hold him/her in your arms, the wait will be worth while
