This is considered a large, local reaction and is within the range of normal. As long as the reaction doesn't include widespread hives, difficulty breathing, etc., you are most likely not allergic.

If these first appeared in the morning and no new ones showed up during the rest of the day, then sleep somewhere else tonight. Benedryl was a very good suggestion (it will also make you sleep well) to hold you over until you get to a Dr. tomorrow. Because of your description, I suggest the pills instead of the cream. Cream is good for small/single bites. Your story reminds me of someone who had a black widow's nest hatch under her closet. The baby black widows came up through a knot hole in the closet floor and were on her cloths and in her shoes when she dressed. Clearly she was resistant to the effects of the bites because she didn't die.
Hopefully it is like the son who has peanut allergies. Then again, we hope not, at least you can do a bug bomb to be rid of spiders. Environmental & food allergies can plague you for life. New allergies can appear without warning.
Another thought, there really is a bug with the name "Bed Bug". You could have an infestation and be having a severe reaction to them. See "Sources"

My son is allergic to peanuts and develops what looks like bites, but are really hives in addition to swelling. You could have started with a bug bite which caused swelling and some hives.

What about fleas? Do you have pets in the house? And maybe it's spider bites. Take all your bedding off and wash it in hot water. Even get a new pillow if you must. Check under the beds and along the walls for any spider webs or strange bugs.

Sounds like a mosquito. Try to put Manuka honey or sparingly tea tree oil and drink water to flush it out the natural way.

simple, my friend!!! i strongly suggest and recommend to just air out your mattress and put out in hot sun. you can do this once a week it's enough, but for now 2-3 days a week, then one week once aor two week once should suffice. airing out mattress in hot blazing sun always works and please do not forget to turn your mattress the other side too so both sides can get blazed by sun. i agree that you should consult a doctor in this matter...
