is lib balm(like chapstick) allowed on planes? i read that lip gel isn't.

With the way their going these days I'd say chapstick or lip balm would be on their list, or it soon will be. Moisturize your lips prior to getting to the airport just in case!!!!

Yes, it's allowed.

From the link provided: "You are permitted to bring solid cosmetics and personal hygiene items as such lipstick, lip balm and similar solids. Please remember these items must be solid and not liquid, gel or aerosol"
