Quickest way is a product like ur using now or a gel but ur not gonna get the best results. 4 the best results on curly hair ur gonna need 2 use a flat/straightening iron or blow dryer w/ ur product. 2 remove clingy products u should use a clarifying shampoo. Beware though clarifying shampoos will dry the hair if used daily so u'll need a conditioner. I suggest u visit a hair salon were they can c your hair & advise u on products.

there's a product called ice that i've used before. it's basically glue and you could put someone's eye out with that stuff in your hair. but it doesn't wash out easily. it takes 2-3 washings and some good hard scrubbing.
i use la bella super spikes gel. i have super straight hair that just wants to lay down flat. la bella works great. it's the only thing i've ever used that's worked. i get it at target. it only costs $2. just make sure you get the super spikes kind. it's the strongest they make.

Elmers glue works well, many punk rockers in the 80's with large mohawks used yo us a little emlers glue, the white kind use for school suplies, than comb it up and blow dry it. It washes out pretty easy as well.

I use gel DEP # 11 and Salon Selectives hairspray Ultra hold. My hair sucks and is curly too....so I gel it...spritz it with spray....blow dry and keep spraying until I get the exact look I want.

Another way to do it is....put on a hat.

Sounds stupid, but that washable white or clear "school" glue...It gets stiff once it's dry, but it washes right out...Clear works best, because it doesn't flake...Other than that, all the specialty products tend to be either wax or they don't work because they won't get stiff...Go figure...
