Pioneer and Pioneer Elite. Go see them in a store and compare them to everything else you see. Yes, they only make HDTV plasmas.

Stay away from the cheap EDTV plasmas. They cannot and never will display the full resolution of HDTV. If you are going to invest all that $$ on a new flat panel, why go for the Yugo of flat panels?

Ignore the poster below me. They are so out of the loop it isn't even funny. Sony no longer makes a plasma TV for consumer use. They stopped making plasmas over a year ago! They only offer re-badged Fujitsu plasmas to their commercial accounts.

I don't know much about plasma but I've read that LCD was the better way to go ( brighter picture, longer lasting, more affordable, etc etc etc). Either way, I always bank on Sony.

I would say sony, usually the big-time brands are safe to go with.
