Well, I worked for a company that installed radios, car phones, remote starters, etc. and learned from co-workers and myself.

I also have my degree in electronics which also helps. Especially when a 4th order Linkwitz-Riley Highpass filter with input and output buffers at 33Hz needs to built for WAY less than what you can buy one for, if you can even find one.

you need to learn about wiring first,,with all the different vehicles out there,,and all the different kinds of radio,s there is on the market today,,its real easy to burn one up,,just trying to put it in,,and if you damage one while putting it in,,it will cost you,i own a repair shop,,and we specialize in this ,,and many other electrical problems,,but like i said each vehicle is different,,and all the cars have different wiring harnesses for the own brand of radio,,good luck with it ,,you can make money doing it,if you take the time to learn it good enough.

i learned by trial and error. just get out there and do it. when i was 14 years old i messed my dad's truck up so bad it wasn't funny. but after just doing it for so long you learn. sure you can go to school but that cost money and you get that persons opinion on things. be your own person and as nike would say JUST DO IT! :)

Backgrounds of knowledge will lead you to the answer you have questioned. Simple understanding of existing problem on hand could lead you to answer and solution, and mostly the manual would do the help you need if you have the know how in reading them.
