Most Christians are not called ministers who "preach". Rather, most are legalistic mouth pieces who are frustrated with the sin in this world. Many are people who have a little knowledge of the doctrines of the Bible, yet act as if they know more then your average Joe.
They make themselves look bad and therefore create a bad witness of the faith.
It is sad. I wish more would listen and learn before they speak.

Well preaching - especially certain types of preaching at certain times towards certain people - can definitely be annoying. It isn't always effective; sometimes it's counter-productive. But it doesn't force anyone to change their beliefs, or shove anything down someone's throat.
Nowadays people seem to have this notion that they have a right to never be annoyed, to never have to hear a different viewpoint that makes them feel uncomfortable. Some people just can't handle the fact that others disagree with them and that others (gasp) might think they are engaging in some sort of immoral conduct. So they lash out and jump to illogical extremes (you're forcing it down my throat! you're imposing it on me!).
People need to grow up and deal with the fact that not everyone in the world will accept everything you do. If you truly are at peace with how you live your life, why the heck should you care if others with different beliefs think you're wrong? The fact that you are able to live your life how you please shows how little religion is being "imposed" on you. Other people thinking that you are a sinner doesn't "impose" anything on your life unless you let it.

Trying to "force" anyone is not preaching. Preaching should be a proclamation, herald, telling the good news, that God sent His Son, who paid the penalty of death for us if we accept Him. It actually should be done out of love, but people get wrapped up sometimes as when there is a discussion & debate over a topic. I am sorry you have been forced rather than an individual attempting to share some great information with you. I pray that someone comes to you in the love of God rather than the misguided ways you have experienced. Just remember not to Force your opinions or Freedom to reject on others.

This is what is done to children i.e. forcing your beliefs on to a young person whom does not have the mental capability to question your beliefs, that is wrong.
Ever heard of impressionability? Gulliability? I think you need to go to take a good look at yourself and figure out whether or not someone has made such a convincing suggestion to you that you end up believing it, chances are yes, everyone has fallen into that trap, you are not exempt from this. Therefore is it not entirely possible (I know its not a possibility its a fact) that you can 'force' someone to believe in your way of thinking.....god sakes man the goverment does it to you everyday.

its not as plain as forcing it down throats obviously...its a marketing plan like everything else now. the more you see it and hear it the more your likely to believe it. I always thought faith was a personal thing, a personal journey so i have never understood the evangelical thing...not sure why you would care if your friends believe that you believe or not if faith is indeed personal. You should understand that people that may not believe in christ have any number of beliefs...personally i find it insulting to have some 16 yr old kid in a tie disturbing time with my family so he can explain to me how i need jesus in my life. I think thats where the criticism comes from often.

Atheists don't think in "no longer something". Atheists have many ideals approximately many things. they only don't think in any gods. they try to declare that without something (the bible) to enable you recognize what to have confidence, you will have not got any thank you to tell what's and is no longer actuality. i think of technology as an occasion, is so lots extra stable at discerning actuality than a e book written 2000 years in the past with the help of primitive human beings.

'forcing down your throat' implies that you are bieng anti-social, impolite, or extremely inconsiderate by doing it.
Picture this - a person yelling at you about the various different climates, ways, and irrigation methods used to grow wheat, day after day. Then more, and more. You'd get damn sick of it too, pretty bloody quickly.
In short, don't use your religion as an excuse to irritate others, no matter how much you like to.

I understand what you are saying, but you have to also remember: TRUE Christians care about your soul. If someone's way of hearing how to get an ETERNITY spent out of hell, wouldn't you care A LOT? Even though some may not believe ig God, you should still know that TRUE Christians (Which there aren't too many around these days) have your SOUL at heart. I would do all I could to keep a person from going to hell...FOREVER!

Nothing including preaching can force you to believe. Preaching is just a tool to inform you and men are saved through the foolishness of preaching. Through the information put out and the act of believing. No one including myself can force you to believe! It can't be forced down you throat! You have to act on the information. If you reject the information then that's your decision no one Else's. Don't blame others because you don't believe.

Some Christians believe it is the only way to bring others to God but as a Christian you are to show by actions and through love. Trying to force feed religion is actually against the teachings in the bible. Jesus actually tells his disciples to go and tell the world about him but if you go to a door and they will not hear you wipe your feet at their door. To me that tells me that Jesus didn't want us to force feed religion to others but try to tell them about the Bible and the right way to live but if they don't want to hear the word you should let it go. Wiping the feet at the door shows you tried and are free of guilt if they are not brought to God.
