Ok this is for the cops out there. Do you all really hate the I.A.B?

No. Most of the officers in IAD at my department are pretty fair. If you stay inside the department policies and the law, you are fine. If not, well, don't get caught. The guys like you see on TV are not representative of the IAD officers on my department, at all.

By IAB I assume you mean Internal Affairs Bureau. If that is what you mean, then yes some cops hate them, but then again some cops love them. The cops that hate IAB are usually the ones that get accused of doing something wrong, like violating a department policy or some other minor type infraction, and are found to be guilty as accused or of having a citizen type complaint sustained (found to be true), whether or not they are actually guilt. The officers that love IAB are the ones that are accused of some violation in department policy or have a citizen complaint filed against them that IAB clears them of. The officer may actually be guilty, but it is still cleared through IAB. IAB' sare different from department to department as well. You may have IAB at one department that tries as hard as they can to find you guilty of things, and other IAB's may be more officer friendly as they try their hardest to clear your name.
