You said that you're smart, talented and skilled enough to attain your goals, yet you can't attain them. Then you asked, "Why don't I attain them?" "Why do we defeat ourselves?" Let me offer a few reasons: 1. Lack of persistence. If you're sure of your giftedness, and have written down your goals, then, one thing that will defeat you is your own lack of persistence; maybe we give up too easily: Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts. The slogan, "Press on! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. 2. Depression. Surprisingly we are all slightly or severely depressed. The symptom of depression is the loss of passion for working towards our goals and dreams. This may be due to our bad experiences in our earlier years. Therefore, we must somehow take control of our lives. We must silence all the distractions, and negative discouragements. We must overcome the emotional blackmail from our loved ones, peers, and religion, and listen to our inner voice that expresses who we really are, and what we really want out of life. 3. We are talkers and not doers. We talk about our goals, but we don't take action, or implement or follow-up after our decisions. John Wooden, 99 years of age just passed away. He was the philosopher-coach that led the UCLA Bruins to an incredible 10 national championships in 12 years. He was famous with his one-liners that inpired his players. Here are a few for our guidance: Never mistake activity for achievement. There are no shortcuts. There is no substitute for hard work. Learn from the past, not live in the past. Take what's available and make the most out of it. There is a price to be paid for achieving anything. The difficult challenge provides the best opportunity. 4. Here are the 12 bad habits that hold good people back: Never feeling good enough Seeing the world in black and white Doing too much, pushing too hard Avoiding conflict at any cost Running roughshod over the opposition Rebel looking for a cause Always swinging for the fence When fear is in the driver's seat Emotionally tone-deaf When no job is good enough Lacking a sense of boundaries Losing the path

Go to www.hgtv.com, www.diynetwork.com and you can get plans or ideas from there. Look for arbor plans as well and then alter them to set your idea. If you have a Lowe's or Home Depot near by, try going there and looking in the books that they sell. You can get ideas, plans and material list from them. If all else fails, then call a contractor and ask them to give you a free quote for one and then you run with it.
