Well I think Im depressed or something. Im 19, and when I was 15 my dad died, and ever since then things keep happening since. Small things, but still they kind of affect me. Ive had my heart broken ,my friends dont want to be my friend anymore out of nowhere, stuff like that. I have alot to be happy about, but I just cant seem to feel happy without be worried about something else or stressed about something.

I'm tired of this feeling, I want to be happy. Im going to get a physical soon, and I want to ask my doctor about zoloft or something like that. Do anti-depressants actually make a difference? Will they help me out?

I'm sorry to rant, I just wanted to be clear with what I was asking and why? Please, reply if you can tell me anything useful.

It sounds like anxiety to me,I know because I lost my mom, dad, and grandmother within a few yrs of each other.Zoloft can help, but I used Wellbutrin for a short while, and did notice a difference.I was less anxious than before.I also spoke with a counselor, because I was not dealing with the losses the way I needed to.It helped to talk to someone.Find other friends.Be friendly, and interested in others, and you will find friends that are keepers.

I have taken Zoloft for 5 years, I feel much better but I take it for anxiety. You would probably benefit from counseling first I wouldn't want to take an anti-depressant at your age. Try a hobby, class, where you can meet friends with similar interests and also find enjoyable recreation.

After nearly five years of major depression, doctors, and drugs with little or no help, a friend gave me this book:

It literally saved my life. Read my story here:

Needless to say, I'm not a big fan of drugs... Zoloft included.

'Nuff said?

The medicines help if you stick with them. It takes awhile for them to start working. Keep trying till you find the right one.
