Child abuse is wrong, but it doesn't sound like you're being abused. I'm only 21, and I don't think your mom was overreacting. I think more children should be punished when they're disrespectful. I was punished in the same way as a child and I now realize that the punishment I received is what shaped me into a hard working respectful adult. Maybe next time, just try to do the chores and get them done, when you're older you'll appreciate what your mom is doing.

That's funny, but yes, it is rude.

Only if it's also not rude to get smacked back! C'mon! Would you want somebody to smack you if you were sleeping and had no clue you were snoring, nor any way to control said snoring? Don't be like that. Hug it out! :-)

Yes, if they're asleep they cannot know they are snoring. If it's a real problem, look into it further. Perhaps even see a doctor and see what can be done. But smacking is not a good answer --especially if this is someone you sleep with *wink, wink*.

Yes, it is. It's like hurting a defenseless baby. There's a scientifically nice way of stopping somebody to snore.

First, tap the shoulder and then make that person roll to his/her side. You wouldn't like somebody to smack you while you're sleeping and snoring. That's considered mini violence.

Find a dirty sock and spread mayonaise on it, and put it under their nose. When they move their head move the sock right along with it. Make sure the sock is smelly like foot cheese.
when they wake up, run, get out of there fast.
never go back, and then you wont care whether they are snoring or not.
move away from that town because people will be calling you bad names and chasing you with torches.

The person you're sleeping with may have sleep apnea... is it loud irregular snoring? If so, they can get help to stop snoring making you both happier (because you'll both get a better night's rest.. not just you... hee hee). Tell him/her to go see a doc or a dentist.

It sure is tempting but it could get you a lawsuit for assault. The snorer needs to see a Dr. He can't help snoring but there is a cure for it. He could have apnea which could cause death.

No especially when you smack them and then act like you didn't. My husband snores sometimes and I pinch him really hard then act like I'm sleeping.
