First, check with your insurance. Most insurance companies will not pay orthodontic benefits for people over 19.

Find an orthodontist who does Invisalign. There should not be a charge for the initial exam. They will tell you if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure.

Your orthodontist will submit x-rays, pictures and models of your teeth to Invisalign. A series of trays are made to gradually move your teeth to the desired position. Each tray is worn for a period of 2 weeks, so the length of your treatment depends on how many trays are needed to properly align your teeth.

When treatment is completed a revision may be required if the teeth still are not in the desired postion. Your orthodontist will submit updated pictures of your teeth & an updated treatment plan for the required movements to Invisalign and additional trays are made. You will be required to wear a retainer for some time after treatment is complete, but they are clear, like the Invisalign trays.

Our Invisalign patients have said that the discomfort is slight to non-existant. Many have said that they get used to the trays being in and can't stand to have them out for long.

Hope I answered all your questions....

I had invisalign and they were great! Chances are your insurance does not cover braces of any kind once you're over 19yrs old.

I had them for about a year, the total time will vary depending on how bad your teeth are. The pain was not bad at all, the only discomfort I had was a day or two after putting in a new tray, because your teeth are moving, other than that, no pain at all! The only thing with Invisalign is you have to be disciplined, you have to wear them about 22hrs a day, basically only taking them out to eat and brush your teeth. The only annoying thing I found was having to take them out everytime before eating and having to brush teeth everytime before putting them back in. However, if you are an adult and don't like the idea of walking around with metal in your mouth or the pain of metal braces, Invisalign is great. Good Luck!

All I know about them is what I've seen advertised. I've known people that have endured traditional braces, and it doesn't seem like much fun. Braces are painful, unsightly, and they can affect the bite, making eating difficult; whereas Invisiline braces can be removed for eating and brushing, look natural, and feel better than traditional metal braces. Your dentist makes up a large series of braces that you change every two weeks, and it takes up to a year or maybe longer for the braces to gradually straighten the teeth, as opposed to up to three years for the traditional kind. Also, invisilines are more expensive. So it becomes a matter of choice. If I were to choose, I'd take invisilines in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure about insurance coverage but Invisalign works well with certain cases. If you have major crowding ur best bet would be to get the braces but if you just have slight overlapping or crowding invisalign is a much more comfortable way to go and you can floss much much easier! You just go through stages of clear retainers until your teeth are aligned. :)

I had them and they were great. My insurance covered them to the same degree that they would have covered regular braces. I had to wear them for about 18 months.

Having had "regular" braces as a teenager, I can tell you that the Invisalign involve a lot less discomfort.
