My baby was born with a congenital liver ailment called Biliary Atresia. She was an angel but suffered mostly from the disease that culminated 23 days after she underwent liver transplant (and 5 more operations after that) and passed away. I am her dad and liver donor. We are Catholics and live in the Philippines.

I don't care what anyone says. I know what you're feeling ! My son was to have turned two years old today. 3 months ago he let himself out the back door for a swim while I was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I didn't hear the door open. He didn't live 24 hours after that. No matter what you do or say or even hear losing a child is fu*ked up! I personally think there is no god. Or that he abandoned me along time ago. They says god forgives you for your sins. But what of his??? He gives you an opportunity for the miracle of life..... Only to take it away from you. I'm sorry for your loss! It's hard grieving and being strong all the time. Hold your head up and take it a day at a time. It doesn't get easier. But you get used to telling yourself to get up everyday again.

I am so sorry about your little angel this is probaly the hardest question I have ever had to answer. My god son died when he was 5 weeks old for a heart disese and an infection I am also a catholic Our religion ask us to have faith that God has a plan As a parent when a child dies even if it is a miscarriage we loose part of our heart, that part is then filled with memories and your earth angel is now an angel watching over you and your wife, it is normal to feel like you are, I hope you are in a support group that helped with my God son's mom.Hold your wife and the tow of you will be holding your baby cause she was a part of the both of you.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is tragic and I don't have an answer for you other than to say that there is a time and season for all things. Sometimes it's not for us to question certain things that are beyond our understanding. I do believe that all things happen for a reason. Most of the time, we ponder over things and blame God for everything because that is so convenient. Things are what they are, and so try to remember your little angel in the best possible light. Losing a loved one is never easy. Take care of yourself and I wish you the very best from this day forward.

We often wonder why any children suffer, my daughter was born with Retts syndrome, she suffers everyday and I've seen others that are worse. It's inexplicable, but we have to look to the other side, there is so much that I've learned from her, humility, patience, unconditional love, and the inner strength to persevere. You lost your child and I cannont comprehend just what you feel but I do understand the question why?. All I can tell you is please do not dispair, your child is in heaven and is no longer suffering, do not blame your self or your loved ones. Your pain and loss is not a punishment for some unrecalled sin. The lesson could be as simple as one that will make you question your faith, as I once did. Do not loose faith because you loose so much more when you do that. I will pray for you and yours for peace in your heart. Bless you much.

God is going to show mercy by raising them back from the dead. Satan causes sickness and death but through Jesus God is going to reclaim all that's his. We will live again and see all our loved ones.
Rev 12:7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi′cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
20 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.

It is not God's fault!

(James 1:13) . . .When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.

(Romans 5:12) . . .That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned—.

The above is why we die.... all of us.

But we have hope!

(Acts 24:15) . . . and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Mike.

Time and chance happens to all (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

We are born into a chemical physical existence.

Where do the unsaved dead (including children) go?

They are dead just like the saved dead.

You make the teachings of Christ of no effect by your man-made traditions.

One man-made tradition is "good people go to heaven when they die and bad people go to hell when they die."

Isn't it time we transcended the fables of childhood?

No one has gone to heaven except the Son of man (John 3:13).

And hell?

Where are the people who have died?

In their graves!

"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation" (John 5:28-29).

The King James "damnation" is from lthe Greek word "krisis", meaning "contesting".

The "contesting" takes place in a second physical life after the 1000 years. The vast majority of mankind is not being called now.

Some of the ones who are "contesting" in the future will still not repent. And they will cease to exist. The words "you only live twice" will be only too true for them. But the majority will repent, and you, if you are in the first resurrection, will be instrumental in bringing your resurrected child to Christ.

Your child is the blessed one, the chosen one -- was called up by Him in quick time after being shown but a glimpse of the worldly life, for some sin or curse of minor nature with kindly redemption clause attached to it. God's mercy! In your case, your ledger page in His account books, is still running; you have been chosen for some more time to do down here. You have the strength to do that! That's also God's mercy: have Faith, Keep praying!

First, you need to talk to your priest if you have this kind of question. People on Yahoo will just pester you with comments like "God does not exist idiot"

I personally don't believe in God but I don't think this is a circumstance where you deserve to be berated for your beliefs.

I don't know all the details, but perhaps you could be comforted in the knowledge that your child likely ascended directly to heaven. Purgatory is a place for sinners to be cleansed of their sins, I'm sure your baby was in perfect condition to be in the presence of God on the day that she died.

We are supposed to live a decent life and our reward for all of this is in the afterlife. Maybe you are right, maybe your daughter was an angel and she got called back home. I don't know what kind of pain you are going through right now but I am pretty sure your daughter is not in pain.

I wish you well.
