Depends on how fit you are. If you are unfit then probably more than 100 calories per mile. If you are fit, less then 100 calories per mile.

I believe the formula is 100 calories per mile, walking or running. Obviously, you burn them off faster while running and can do more in a half-hour.

the average notation on caloric exhaustion is for 5 miles it's 1000 calories.
