Be blunt, but gentle. Tell her in the kindest way possible...maybe hint it for a couple days, that way she is expecting it, and then sit her down and talk to her. Do it at her house, that way you can leave and she can go cry by herself. Or perhaps a park, in a secluded place. Be honest with her...dont lie and say things that she may find her arnt true. Tell her that you never meant to hurt her, but that its best if she moved on and found a guy who cares about her more then you ever could. About how great she was, and how youve learned allot from her, how you will always treasure the past year...but that you want her to have better. Tell her that you understand if she doesnt want to be near you anymore, and how she might not want to be friends. but if she does, that you would love to still have her friendship. She will cry. She might beg you not to. But stick your ground. Its better not to drag it out. Good luck...and best wishes. Remember, be as kind and as gentle as possible.

Be a man about it, and tell her you need to talk with her, just let her know that she is special to you, and you`ve really had some good times together, but "right now", you`re feeling a lot of mixed emotions, and you need some space to try to allow yourself time to focus on some other important issues that keep pressing you. Do let her know how you want to be the best you can in any relationship, but right now it`s just not happening. Well just for openers, play it by ear, listen to how she feels, be kind, but firm, sympathize with her, but hold your ground. do exit in a gentle way if at all possible.

Talk to her. Waiting is only going to hurt her more. She may be having some doubts anyway, if you have been wanting to break up. I'm sure she can tell something is going on.

there's no way to break up without hurting someone, break ups always hurts people. what's the reason for you wanting to break up? Tell her the truth, tell her the reason why you want to break up.

Just tell her the truth, there is plenty of women that will take a guy who doesn't have enough sense to leave while he still can

Unfortunately, it's going to hurt her no matter what you do...or how you say it. Your going to hurt her more by not telling her.

Don't look like you don't want to hurt her. Look natural and normal. Like don't look like you pity her.
