I was newly married to a Army Private stationed 2,000 miles from home. We didn't have money for Christmas so for 3 weeks I went to work in a factory that built mobile homes. I thought I was going to work in the office so the first day I wore a cute little suit. They gave me a tool-belt and hoisted me to to top of the mobile home to drill in screws. I am such a girly-girl but somehow I did it. We had a nice Christmas that year. LOL

I always thought that I was a real people person and that I could get along with just about anyone, but I was so wrong. My nightmare job was a retail store during the Christmas season. I will leave it with I think I hate people who are shopping and I will never work retail again. People are such slobs and nasty too! But only while they are shopping, I've found that most people are okay when your not trying to get at their money.

I was in the military and had to endure basic training. As bad as that one was, I would rather do 52 weeks of boot camp vs. the summer I had to spend at an amusement park working a popcorn stand. That was a dirty and nasty job. I would come home every night dirty, sweating and reaking in popcorn butter and grease. To this day I will not eat popcorn nor want to smell it cooking.

I worked as a papergirl when i was 13. Not only were the papers so heavy that i had to use to shopping carts to carry them but i had to stuff every single one with a zillion fliers. Took me about 12-15 hours a week. Pay: $100/ month. HAHA

I am ashamed to say I stood in front of Target one summer in California and tried to get people to sign ballot initiatives for banning gay marriage and increasing penalties for gang-related crimes. This was years ago before I had any political leanings. Now it makes me cringe. I made $1.50 per signature for one of the petitions, and $2.00 for the other, and I'm telling you it really adds up quickly. I quit the day a woman rode by on her bike and yelled "You're bastardizing the initiative process!!!"
