I've had the same problem as you are describing here, since I was younger, i've always had an unusually close relationship with my mother, i used to never be able to have sleepovers at all, everyone said i'd get over it, though i never did, even after 18....
eventually I got married and had to move out of state, it was so hard for me to do, I cried constantly, phoned home every day, and found myself constantly depressed, I wanted to go home so much...
this feeling has started going now that I'm 22, I don't have so much of a problem any more , after living out of state for 6 months, we moved back in with my parents house, and i actually realized i missed living on my own, despite what I was feeling!
we then got a place only like 5 mins. away from there house, and so to be honest, for awhile I've been seeing her every day, going shopping, visiting and doing things together, and it's helped alot,
I guess you can say, by doing that living away from home but still visiting her every day, i slowly got used to being away, little by little,
Don't worry about it too much, eventually you'll be able to be away from home a little longer,
if you are going to college, focus on the good things, not the bad, instead of worrying about how you are away from home and cant visit with your mother, say to yourself, "Okay! we are going to talk on the phone every single day! and before I go, we are going to spend a whole day or two just doing stuff together, "

This Isnt A bad sign It just Means You Have A good Relationship With Your Mom. Dont worry your Grow Out of this stage. And When You Go to College You Meet So Many new Ppl You'll Forget About Home And Wanna Spend More Tim Just Hangin With your Friends. Just Try Goin Out With Friends More Often And try To get used Of the Feeling Of "MOM" Not Being there. Cause Mom Is Not Gonna Be By Your Side 24/7 Espaiccally When you Get OLder. Just Relax. And Learn To Spend Time With Your Mom And At the Same Time Manage to Spend Time With you Friends. No One Wants To Be A Momma' s girl specially At your Age. It's not a bad sign, you're just close to your mom. I still miss my mom everyday and I live only 2 hrs away. Plus I've been married for over 4 years already. You miss her a lot now because you just barely left and you're thinking about your life ahead and how now you're gonna be on your own or how this might be the last time you might ever live at home. It will get easier over time, but you will never stop missing her. I get excited and anxious when I'm about to visit mine.

Well when you go off to college you don't necessary need to loose contact with your mom. There's always the phone, and you guys could write letter, to keep in touch. No it's not weird, some people are just more attached to a parent, and feel akward being away from them.

oh, you must be like me, i am a mammas boy and proud of it, that is good to hear that you spend so much time with her, many people nowadays dont do that with their moms... I miss my mom alot too, I moved from missouri to cali and I havent seen my mom in three months, I had stil lived with her and spent alot of time with her, I do miss her, but I know I can call and talk to her, and i do, alot, lol
what helps me is to remember it isnt forever, I know i will see her again and talk to her again, just call her often, i got free pic mesaging on my cell plan and we spend alot of time exchanging pics, we probobly spend just as much time together doing that as we did when i was there, lol
just find different ways to stay connected, being there isnt the only way, there is phone calls, letters, texting on your phones, email and instant messanger... hope this helps, good luck

Take it from me...when you get to college you will soon forget your mom.
I am an only child and moved around a lot so my parents were my closest friends. When it came time to go to college, I picked one that was within "commuting" distance (at a stretch, but still doable) from home just in case I hated it and couldn't stand to be away from home. By the second week my parents had to beg me to come see them once in a while.

Can you go to college in your home town and stay with your mom? Are you an only child? There are lots of legitimate reasons for you and your mom to continue living together as adults. Just don't freeload off of her once you become an adult, or finish school.

Oh sweetheart...I remember my first trip away. Every time I went away (band camp, boot camp, A school) I felt just awful. Put on some jamming music, get yourself some oreos and milk, and write her a letter. Write every day if it helps.
