I used to be. I cut off all contact with her and took a backpacking trip through Greece and Turkey for a couple of months. By the time I got back I really didn't care what she was doing or who she was with.

Someone has really to move on when there's no more hope for a reconciliation. But it would really be difficult first because the memories would linger on and on. Still, the great healer would be Time. There would be a lot of times when one would feel so empty and helpless that depression might set in. The best thing to do is to keep one's self busy with many things like new hobbies or interests that may divert one's attention from such loneliness.

Or, that soul may indulge himself in going out with friends to social places where the possibility of meeting many people is great. This may give him the chance to meet someone who can replace his ex-gf in his heart.

But wait, I did not say that there is no possibility that that man and his ex-gf will be together again. Remember Destiny? I do believe in Destiny so I also believe that when that guy and his ex-gf are really meant for each other, at the right time, Destiny will work towards their finding themselves in each other's arms once more and the rest will be that they will live happily, ever after just like in fairy tales.

Good Heavens no! I could not even think about starting a relationship until I was over my ex. It wouldn't be fair to the other person.

No, but my ex- is still in love with me. He would always call every couple of months. Finally yesterday I told him "So are you still going to call me when I marry my boyfriend?" And he got really offended and told me to have a nice life if that's how I was going to behave. Puh-leez. So I told him to have a nice day. My life is fine. He is married and has a child, but still must not be content in his heart. I don't feel bad for him. But I pray for his family and that they'll be OK together.

yes...going on 17 years...my first love...will always love him for the rest of my life. you may never totally get over someone but you can put that love away and move on. as long as you can love yourself make yourself happy...others will follow...just know you deserve it. love as best you can...don't beat yourself up about what you're not capable of...and good luck!
