I started dating my soon-to-be-husband when we were both 13. However, we grew up together as best friends. Like, the type that people would find so annoying, because we were always together. We had cribs next to each other in hosptial and everything, and we lived 15 minutes apart untill we turned 15, at which point my family moved 5 mintues away from his (both our familys are close). Anyways, we even had our weddings planned out when we were 11...I was going to be his Best Woman (I was going to wear a black top hat and all black suit), and he was going to be my Mansmaid (he was going to wear a tie and vest in the same colors as my bridesmaids), and we were going to move into a duplex house together afterwards. And if the people we were going to marry didnt like it, then they werent the one for us...
Looking back on it all now, it's really quite funny.
When we discovered we were more then friends, we were both in denial about it, because we didnt want to loose each others friendships. We both had been hurt by the opposite gender before, and we were all we had. The weekend before we got together, we went to go see a play, and we held hands without even realizing it.When we both saw what we were doing though, we didn't mind...and continued to hold hands all night. A couple days later, he admited to me that he had fallen in love with me, and that we wanted me to know. I ran around the house doing cartweels and laughing hysterically, I was so happy. Years later, he still makes me that happy.
He has been my one and only, and I am so glad we started dating when we did. We are going to be getting married on our 5 1/2 year anniversery...which is next November.
