My question is why? and what are you thinking?
The below is something someone on yahoo said..... I say this to them, and those who believe them... Good job making your God sound like a hateful, non forgiving person. If athiests, agnostics, whatever are definatly going to hell, than doesnt that just prove your God isnt a very kind one? He wont forgive them even if they live a good life? Honestly I consider myself agnostic. Im just curious as to how people really think, and why do they think it make sense? Im not saying all christians or religious people are like this. or believe this. So dont be affended if you are not one of them. Thanks.
"But heed this:
when you die in that tragic car accident tomorrow or you get sucked into a huge drain pipe at the bottom of the local waterslide park 2 years from now, don't expect a blessed death.
The Lord will say;
"Depart from me, I never knew you." "

Good job. Couldn't say it better myself. WE don't need to be so judgmental as God is the true judge.

The concept of punishment and separation from God is something that many people struggle with. You are not alone in questioning the concept of hell and the attitudes of people who seem to lack compassion and judge others. It seems like you think God should accept people based on how good they are. The question I would have about that is how good do you have to be? We don't all have the same opportunity for goodness. God offers his forgiveness as a gift to all people. That way all people have the same opportunity to have salvation. As you question whether God exists or rather Jesus is good, remember the claim he makes is that he died for you. Doesn't that express the greatness of his desire to forgive? I am sorry that people acted in a way that offended you. I can relate to the struggle you are experiencing and I hope you find the answer and some peace.

Well, God is like a gift given to us, as any other gift you may accept it or reject it, is up to you, and that's the beauty of it, He loves us so much and He is so gentle that He gave us the freedom to decide by ourselves. However how can you go to Him after you are death if you never accepted the Him, the gift? Anyway there's always hope, I recommend you to read the doctrine of Purgatory and Communion of the Saints, try this link, it is a little bit difficult to read and long just be patient, and you will find a loving and merciful God. God bless you, and shame on those people making Him look like the opposite.

Some of the things that some Christians say to people when they ask questions are just wrong. I have been guilty of being bated into replying to a question that is offense to me as a Christian in a way that is hurtful and angry. What that person said is simply their opinion on something. They have in my opinion a wrong attitude. God is a fair God, he has set ground rules, if you believe in him and follow his teachings and his rules then you will receive the rewards that a Christian is promised. If you choose not to believe in him that is your right as an individual and if you are absolutely convinced of your beliefs then it doesn't really matter what anyone else says. I am very secure in what I believe, as, I am sure you are in what you believe. Jesus wants everyone to turn to him and receive the blessings that he has to offer. Christians should do their best to remember that everyone has the same opportunity to turn to Christ. The person that you are being rude to or showing an unchristian attitude to maybe actually searching and I truly believe that God holds us responsible for those we run off just as much as he does those we lead to him.

I don't think it has to make sense...I myself am a spiritual person, but can't say I am very religous. I think people all need and want to believe in something. It helps them to get through the hard times. There is always some kind of god(s). Alot of things some people do make no sense, but thats part of what makes life interesting.

Well, the quote is correct-whether or not it seems rude. But God tells us in the Bible that all the "good" we can do is like a filthy rag thrown down on the ground. God says we must believe in and trust in Him to get into heaven, he does not care about all the good we think we can do. Its not about doing good deeds all day long-its about believing in God. So, if you are an atheist-then you do not believe in God-the "only" requirement He has for you to get into heaven.
The person who gave you that quote was not being rude-he was trying to keep you from hell.

Unfortunately some of us preach hellfire and brimstone instead of love. Where there is an uncomfortable truth to their statement it would have been much better stated that the Lord Jesus came to give you victory over sin and death with uncomprimising love for you. The Lord loves you and died for you so that you may live forever with Him in eternity. What's the worst that could happen if you accepted and believed in Him? If in fact in death you find that He is the great I AM...wouldn't it be smart to have made that decision while you had the chance to? That's an insurance policy that you can count on!

In response to the above "question"....
God gave us free will. We don't have to follow Him if we don't want to. You say that if He loved us, we'd all go to heaven. Well, guess what? In the beginning, we ALL were going to have everlasting life. Except we HUMANS decided to sin: to live our own way, and turn our backs on God. GOD NEVER WALKS AWAY, WE DO. You see, God knows we can't be good all the time. If He changed His rules to please YOU, then none of us would go to heaven, because almost none of us are good...at all. We ALL make mistakes, EVERY DAY. Knowing this, He created forgiveness. He will forgive again and again IF WE ASK FOR IT. so ask.

I agree that people do make GOD out to be a hateful non forgiving person. GOD is not like that, HE is a loving, care Forgiving GOD. People make out like that because they have a lot of hate in their heart and they think it is a way to get ride of it.

Thanks allot for your Question Nicole :)
Well first let me tell you that God loves people but he loves the ones who loves him and thank him for his graces on us and he is definitely so forgiving but he is forgiving to the people who truly ask forgiveness and of course he is so kind :), he gave you eyes, ears, hands, legs, he gave you the ability to feel to laugh to smile to think don't you think these graces are kindness from God ?!
In my belief God maybe permits to some bad things to happen to us, but just to test us and see weather we thank him or we just thank him in good times only?! :)
I hope you knew something new, one last thing to say if you want to know more or talk more about this subject or any other please feel free to contact me on abouterachess@yahoo.com

So many of these religious questions could be resolved if people read the Bible for themselves. Instead they chose to argue about religion like little children fighting over a toy in a sandbox.
The passage they are referring to is in the book of Matthew. You might want to read the whole thing. Here are a few verses.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
