It does sound like you have and infection!
Does it also feel like you have a little pea in your earlobe and redness...go see a doctor or start cleaning it more and with hydrogen peroxide!

If they're recently pierced, they will hurt for awhile, regardless of what anyone told you before you had them done. Making a hole in your earlobe is going to hurt, and it will continue to hurt as it heals. Is the skin around the hole red and irritated? Is it slightly puffy? Do you get a 'crust' on your earring?
If it's been this way for a few days, take care of it immediately! Try putting a little isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol around the hole and turning your earring a few times a day. Yes, it will sting. It is, however, better than having an infection. If it doesn't clear up, you'll need to see a nurse or a doctor. If you had your ears pierced at a reputable place, phone them and see what they suggest.
I've had mine pierced for years, but still recall getting used to taking care of them. It does get easier and it is worth the hassle.

it's not necessarily incected if there is puss. Is it goopy or crusty?. if its goopy red and itchyit could be infected but if it is just pussing a little and isn't red or itchy try cleaning itreal good spray it & use a q tip with rubbing alcohol on it to clean it. If it doesn't go away in a few day go to the doctor or take the earrings out.

The one tell-tale sign for me is that my earlobes itch continuously. The pus, like you've described, is also a tell-tale sign.
Get some bacitracin (spelling, sorry) from your local pharmacy (this is sold over-the-counter) and rub it on your ears. Keep doing this everyday and eventually your ears should clear up.
Have a lovely rest of the evening.

they are infected, its no reason to panic though, just get some rubbing alcohol and put it on there 2 to 3 times a day. it should heal it up, but if you want to keep the hole keep your earing in.

many assume 'pus' is infection or it could simply be a white or SLIGHTLY yellowish (if its noticably yellow becareful) discharge this is normal, the body is healing and this is dead skin cells/blood lymph etc coming out of the wound. if its infected it'll be red, swollen, warm to touch, and usually shiny

Redness in the surrounding area, throbbing pain...etc. It sounds like you have an infection and need to see a doctor.
