I agree as well, what ever colors are "in" probably won't be by the time you load the paint cans into your car. Think about what type of atmosphere you want in your home, and go from there.
If you want to relax at home, go for soft colors that calm your senses. The bedrooom, for example, can be painted a very soft blue with your ceiling an even lighter shade of that blue. This allows you to use bedding of various colors, as this blue compliments just about any color throughout the year.
For example, for the fall, you can use steel grey, or coco brown with teal. For the summer and spring, yu can use white, cream, or pale yellow and even do a nautical theme to liven things up.
To make things easier, you can use various shades of this blue throughout the house and just paint the trim and doorways a different color to seperate the rooms.
Good Luck

Don't necessarily go for the colors that are 'in'. Go to interior decorating stores and get a feel for what you like as you'll be the one who has to live with it. Develop your own style with items that you already own.

Light turquoise or teal and brown are everywhere. I'm afraid though that soon they will look dated, so don't buy expensive items in those colors. Use neutrals for couches and carpets and accent with flowers, lamps, candles, pictures in those colors.

I agree w/ lil K. What is "in" today is "out" tomorrow. Be yourself. Just remember the darker the color the smaller the room may feel. If you are going for cozy GREAT.

Colors can be divided into three main groups: those that stimulate and uplift, those that relax and calm, and those that provide harmony or balance.
