I'm a senior in high school, and most of the kids around my age that i know are athiest. Does that mean that when my generation 'grows up', most of the US will be atheist?

i think that idea is pretty unrealistic considering that 90+% of ppl believe in God.
i doubt that when your generation is all grown up, most US citizens will be atheist.
however kids these days are more rebellious than anything else. they just want to be "different" from everyone else, but in trying to be different they're really just being the same. you're not the same when you're 25 as you were at 15, there's a lot of growing up in there and you learn a lot of things you didn't know at 15.
if someone was an atheist, i'd tell them to hurry up and read their Bible and ask Jesus into their hearts and ask their sins to be forgiven bc the 2nd coming is not far off. no, i don't mean it will be next week, but it very well could be.

I am 27 and have been agnostic for as long as I can remember... even when I was little and my mom would haul my butt to church. I would always tell her to show me God then. If "Santa" comes every year then God could come just once to see me. So I have always felt this way... of non believing. My husband is 34 and Atheist. And no it doesn't mean your generation will grow up to be mostly this or that. You are all at an age where you question things, (and that is great) but as you age things will become defined for you and you will hopefully follow your heart and your head. You may continue to believe what you do today or things in life can change the way you feel. Just always remember that religion is a very personal choice and only you know what is right to you. And try not to judge others if they don't believe as you! Follow what you believe in always!

I disagree with the 'most atheists are educated' comment. It may be true that a higher percentage of educated people are atheists than in the general population, but I would stop there. You'd be surprised how many people are religious (very) at my little institute of technology in Massachusetts.
Yes, atheism is spreading, but I don't know if it's the healthy kind. To me, the healthy kind is one that's either thought through or just natural. What I see is more of the spurned, rebellious type of atheism in kids, the kind that's just like rejecting your parents as a teen. I think that's the kind of atheism most likely to disappear as time goes on. So no, I don't necessarily think that most of the US will be atheist later on. It's a possibility but far from guaranteed.

Yes, I think so. I blame the church for being so weak, for these problems. Education as it is today, is not education at all, it's more of a means to convince young people there is no God, and it's working. Again it is not hard to do Satan's work when the church is not doing their job.
The USA is already anti-Christ. The USA is a foreign incorporation with millions of people under it's jurisdiction. America, on the other hand is a constitutional republic with only few thousand under it's jurisdiction.

That's because you don't have any dealings with the believers world (so to speak)!....from my involvement in the beleivers ministry, I see many, many young people coming to GOD on a daily basis!.......so, it's just as broad as it is long!.....to answer your question, I would say that there would be 'more' young believers in the US than atheists!......do your research!

That's the result of too much freedom, commercialism, industrialization, discrimination and the impact of "new" thoughts or modernization because of the degredation of values and religion, and a total disregard of the existence of God.

I wonder......
There is a prophecy in the N.T. about "two witnesses". Popular view thinks that these will be two people...but I think that would be too obvious. I suspect the prophecy actually refers to the Bible "Word" and the Christians "Body".
Anyhow, the point is, the "Beast" (I suspect that one has been mistranslated by popular opinion as well) makes war with these witnesses, and...
THEY DIE
The world rejoices, because they are glad that these two witnesses that had troubled them are gone...let their bodies lie unburied and send gifts to each other...I can see how that could be, can't you?
"Christianity is dead, WOOOHOOO!!"
BUT
God puts life back into them, they stand up again and everyone who sees them get's spooked...I can see that happening too...
THEN
God calls them up to heaven.
I wonder...
I wonder if your generation of atheists aren't the ones scheduled to "make war" against these "witnesses" and "kill" them? And...if that happens, will you remember this post, when they do stand back up?
Remember that someone did try to warn you?
Will you remember???????????

No I doubt that most of the US will ever be atheist/non-religious...in fact, the U.S. is one of the most religious countries in the world!
81% of American adults identify themselves with a specific religion..
