Ok, I'm paranoid and suicidal. I think everyone is out to get me and always plotting.

I'm also very intelligent. I have a way of telling people what they want to hear especially doctors.

I have been on prozac for 13 years 40mg per day. I have been diagnosed with bi-polar and depression.

Ok, I think I am clinicly paranoid but If I tell my doctor will he believe me? See, just that statement is paranoid.

But can you be paranoid and now it? I am so feaking confused.

I have been so paranoid lately that I have pre-empted attacks on loved ones emotionally and have ended up with a restaining order and contempt charges.

Sometimes I just want to eat a freaking bullet and end it all.

well, i am not a paranoid, or bi-polar

(well, by normal standards!), but I am sometimes (read, “often”!) paranoid about people. I would say that, you would be surprised by the number of people who feel like “ending it”. Not everyone who has the seemingly “perfect” life is in fact happy, and has never considered ending it all. I would really hope you at least have the chance to talk to others who feel the same was as you – not necessarily in the same boat (ie the “labeled” disorder), but in the same was emotionally. So, DON’T end it, or feel that you should, just because everyone around you has the seemingly “perfect” life – you might be surprised how many people might want to trade things had they ever been given the chance.

Sermon over!

And, please, I really hope you either find some friends, or some balance, and realise that things may not be as bad as they always seem. If it is any consolation, should you decide to top yourself, you will be dead, and frankly not care – being dead, I suspect (sorry to all the religious types) is the end of it all. Do you Really want that?

Best wishes, though – if you want to camp, and have a few beers, drinking and burning stuff, to talk about it, in the UK, then feel free to IM me.

First of all It isn't paranoid if everyone is really out to get you, and second most of the time the highly intellligent people become paranoid, third prozac isn't used to treat paranoid you should first ask for something else before trying to put a bullet in your head,
the preempted attacks is normal but just dont do them it is a way for you to try and find an escape but the first thing i would say is get on a different drug, and start from there

Yes...you can be paranoid and know it. I was before getting on my bipolar medication and I am no longer like that. I would walk around my house and look out all the windows (even if the blinds were closed tight) because I thought people were looking through the windows at me.

Your doctor would probably ask you a series of questions to see to what extent you are paranoid, but I know my doctor believes everything I tell him.

Good luck with this. Tell your doctor everything. It's the only way you can be effectively treated. I used to hold back info from my doctor and I was put on the wrong medication.

Well, you are not so far into the disease that you have lost self-awareness or intellect, and that is a good sign. You KNOW you need help or you would not have posted this message. Trust your doctor. If you begin feeling paranoid about your doctor, remember that you chose to be seen, and have the option of walking out, and that your doctor is your advocate.

If you are not getting your meds from a psychiatrist or neuro-psychiatrist, I would suggest you ask your doc for a referral. They are better trained in managing the meds that you will need.

Try and remember what it felt like when you were not paranoid, and realize that once they get the brain chemistry straightened out you will feel so relieved to feel normal again.

Wow!!!! You are right...you are intelligent and if this post is real you need to be 100% honest with your doctor. Some of these feelings might be from your medication and/or illness that you were diagnosed with. If you have been on one medication for a long period of time, sometimes it just stops working for you and you need your meds changed. There is nothing to be embarrassed about or ashamed of...it's the illness or the meds...it's not you but you need to get real about it. I worked with people with many mental illnesses for years and let me tell you, they were some of the most brilliant, talented, people I've ever met in my entire life. There are so many great meds out there today, that you can feel great without having these thoughts or impulses...you can live a great life and really contribute to society!!! Please be honest with your doctor!

You need to talk to your doctor. The prozac is not working and in fact many people have committed suicide under that medication. If I were you I would ask your doctor to change you to a fairly new drug called Lamictal. By the way I am bi-polar with suicidal tendencies as well as having anhedonia.

Don't tell the doctor what he wants to hear because you are not helping yourself at all. How are you supposed to get better if you are just pacifying the doctor. Tell him the truth because there are drugs out there that can stop the paranoia. Don't suffer in peace speak up and tell the truth, the doctor can only do as much as you tell him.

honestly, it sounds like you need to change doctors. it sounds like you aren't responding well to the medication and it hasn't been changed in 13 years. if you are bipolar, you probably need to be on a mood stabilizing medication as well as an antidepressant. you probably are paranoid. and it's okay that you recognize it. don't resort to suicide. get the phone book and call a different psychiatrist. therapy will also help you a great deal. a good therapist can help you recognize what you are thinking and help you form strategies to deal with problematic thought processes.

Yeah you sound like you are experiencing some paranoia. I don't think your preempted attacks are the result of paranoia. I think the attacks are because of some other issues with which you struggle.

It is important that you speak honestly with your psychiatrist. It might be that your medication has plateaued out and you are in need of something different to help decrease your paranoia.

A broken clock is right twice a day and even a paranoid person can have someone out to get them.

Stop focusing on yourself and do something good for someone else.
