My favorite was Black Bear Mountain Birch beer. Can't find it here in Florida though.

Hmmm. Well, I didn't have just one... I liked several different ones.
Shasta Ginger Ale was probably my favorite. I also liked Fresca, Fanta Red Cream Soda, Nehi Orange, Frostee Root Beer, and of course, Coca-Cola.
My grandparents had friends that owned a "bait house" in Corpus Christi, Texas, and we spent a lot of time there. They had a long bar top with stools, and on the back side of the bar were the huge metal 'coolers' they kept the sodas in. I guess I liked so many because they had all these sodas there and I had the "run of the house". Great memory of those days! (late-60's, early 70's)
I also remember when we lived in Corpus there was a laundromat in the mobile home park we lived in, and it had a Coke machine in it. It had only Coca-Cola, in the 6 oz bottles, and they were 10 cents. The bottles came out so cold that the Coke actually had slivers of ice in it... and talk about burning the throat going down!! My grandmother LOVED the bottles out of that machine!
I still drink Fresca - it's one of my favorites even now. I wish they still made Shasta Ginger Ale... I miss that stuff! They just don't make 'em like they used to!

We had Nehi Strawberry, Orange, and Grape. I have always preferred RC Cola to Coke or Pepsi.
We used to have Fresca, which tasted like white grapefruit juice. I think a similar drink is on the market now, but I cannot recall the trade name.
In my Grandmother's day, "sassparilla" [sarsaparilla] was all the rage.
We used to drink a lot of pink lemonade; it was really tea made from the sumac seed heads.
And there was sassafrass tea from the bark of a tree that grows in the Ozarks in Missouri, but it is no longer on the market because it's carcinogenic.

I always liked Big Red cream soda. It is a local brand and RED colored. I always thought it was strawberry or cherry flavored as a kid and just recently learned it is really cream soda and that cream soda is naturally red. You can't get it in any other state than Texas. Everywhere else people think you are talking about chewing gum!

I liked Orange Nehi and Ski. I haven't seen Ski in probably 20 years, I don't think they make it anymore. :(
After I answered this I went and googled for Ski. I found it! They still make it and Double Cola, too!! Now I just have to find it.
