Recently I asked you for your favorite childhood candy, candy bars and snack foods.
Then I asked you for the name of your childhood neighborhood theater.
So what was your favorite soda pop? Try to fool me with some I've never heard of before. Let's keep this nostalgia train a rollin' down the tracks.
My favorite soda pop was Lotta Cola. It was a cola like Pepsi and Coca Cola, but it came in 16 oz. bottles, so I got 4 oz. more for the same price. That was really great after a hot, sweaty game of baseball.

I drank something called Rebel Yell Soda.

It was not served from a glass bottle - we would go, oh maybe once a summer, to Dr. Adam's Apothecary. He had tall v-shaped glasses, a green tinge to them, and the soda was supposed to ease aches and pains and give you energy.

The soda just had a sweet taste. I would not compare it to anything you all have today. But, it was a special treat, indeed.

Besides Coke there was a soda called Jolt that has so much sugar that it literally made you "jolt" but it was a poor man's version of Pepsi. Still Coke is to this day my favorite soda.

Coca-Cola! Was there any other? My mom used to make me drink 7-UP when I had an upset stomach so to this day, I can't stand to drink lemon flavored sodas. UGH

My favorite was grape soda, but I'm not sure of the maker. And I loved Dr. Pepper when it first came out. Guess I'm aging myself by saying that! LOL

I always used to love Welch's Strawberry soda... though it was not very easy to get. Only one convenience store and pizza place had it, so it was a treat anytime I got it. Everyplace always had grape, orange, black cherry, etc... but rarely could one find the elusive strawberry.
