i was recently dumped by my boyfriend. well, he said since school is starting soon and we live kind of far from each other, we will barely see each other and he doesn't think the relationship will work. also, his feelings had faded for me were about 75% gone when he broke up with me. i agreed to breaking up, but i didn't want to. he told my friend, after, that although he still cared about me, and was concerned about me, he wasn't ready to go back and try again at our relationship (or any other relationship), and that he needed time for himself. i still like him, and i can't let him go just yet. i know that there are other guys out there and that i shouldn't get hung up on one guy, but i really can't stand the thought of losing him. he says he's sorry for hurting me, and that he's there for me still, and i don't know.. i really want him back. do i still have a chance (now/later)? or is it really, truly over ? sorry for the long explanation : (

Give him some time away. He seems to be more kind that many young males. You are not losing him, he just never made up his mind to stay. If he says he's still there for you, that means he does not have any negative feelings. However, you should move on and date others instead of waiting for him. If it is meant to be, he just might come back but stop puttiing his feelings ahead of yours. You owe it to yourself to live every day to the fullest by being with people who want to be with you AS MUCH AS you want to be with them.

well, I don't think he's worth the tears, because yeah even though he's going to school, and it's kind of far, he can always come back sometime to see you, if you really did love you he wouldn't break up over the distance, it's a stupid reason to break up, how does he know that it won't work out? yeah long distance relationships are hard, but when 2 people who are willing to work something out, it'll work out. Me and my husband are still doing the long distance thing because he's in england and I'm here in canada, he's still willing to fly to canada every once in awhile to see me, we're just waiting for his visa so he can be here.

Sounds like it is over, sweetie. But listen...it's really not that bad. It hurst like heck right now, but you will soon forget him and find someone better. You can't force someone to want to be with you.
I'm sorry. I really feel for you. I know that the truth sucks.

As a guy, I’d say no, not in any real way. It sounds like he let you down soft, with the ulterior motive of keeping you as a fallback. I know that’s harsh, but I call them like I see them. Sorry.

Find yourself someone else and move on. There are plenty of fish in the sea.

I really think that you are upset more with him breaking up with you than if you had broken up with him. It's a girl thing
