Hitting your dog, beating him with a newspaper, slapping him, yelling him, etc will not potty train him. Please ignore these callous people whose pets should be confiscated.
You have a 10 week old toy dog. Did the breeder explain to you potty training techniques? Did the breeder explain to you how difficult toy dogs can be to train? Did you research the breed? If you had, you would have seen that potty training is the #1 reason that many breeds of toy dogs are abandoned. Yorkies are no exception.
10 weeks old is too young to expect him to have good potty habits or to make it all night. You can try getting up every 3 or 4 hours to let him out and see if that helps. You won't like it, but if potty training is important to you, then it may help. There are also hundreds of books available on potty training dogs, and probably thousands of websites. They should offer worlds of information.
Toy dogs can also be litter trained sometimes. It's an option if as your dog gets older, he is still having problems. But, you need to start thinking right now about what will happen if his problems never disappear. If it's going to be an issue, you should start making arrangements and preperations to give him to rescue while he is still young. I know it's not a nice thought, but if it's an offense worthy of you giving him away at one or two, then you should do it now so that he has a much higher chance of being adopted.
If you purchased from a reputable breeder (see link below for what a reputable breeder is), then try calling them to see if they have additional suggestions for you. A reputable breeder is committed to making sure that their dogs do well in future homes. They will make the time to help you out.
Good luck to you and I hope it works out. : )

patience and persistance is the only way to properly train your puppy. It's going to take a while so don't be alarmed or frustrated just hang in there. Bring him out every 4 hours to the same spot and tell him to go potty. Use the same command each time you bring him out and if he does go outside then give him a lot of praise and a treat and tell him good potty. If you catch him going in the house make a loud noise like slapping your hands together to try to get him to stop and then immediantly bring him outside. If he does have an accident don't scold him, yell at him, rub his nose in it or hit him. Instead bring him outside to the same spot and tell him to go potty. I know it seems redundant but that's what you need to do in order to properly train your dog. Also, when inside he shouldn't have the run of the entire house. You should only give him a certain room (depending on the size) or part of a sectioned off room. When dogs are learning to potty train they should never have free roam of the house and make sure he's in an area that has flooring that is easy to clean. There is also potty boxes made for small or toy dogs made by purina. You can get them at petco or online. They are called Second nature dog litter pans by Purina. I use them for my four chihuahua's and have great luck with them. None of my dogs go on the floor or have accidents but the good thing about the boxes is I can leave them for 10 hours or more and not worry about them having to hold it. I use flat newspaper on the bottom. If you go with the pan make sure you get the larger size box with the higher sides because your dog will probably end up picking up his leg to pee as he gets older. I have one male and I simply open the newspaper up as if I were reading it and lay it on the bottom of the pan so the sides of the paper go up the sides of the box then I lay two more pieces on the bottom. When they are used I simply roll them up and burn them or throw them away. Good luck and be patient with your pup he'll learn if you keep teaching him.

I have found that little dogs have a harder time because they are so much smaller and waiting to go pottie outside through the night just doesn't work for them. My newest puppy is a Jack Russell and came to us at 8 weeks old, and just weaned. She has had very few accidents (4)! We have trained her to pottie in a litter box. We use little "puppy pottie pads" that you can buy in any pet store or places like WalMart. We will probably switch her to "outside" after the winter, when she's bigger, but right now this has been the easiest "training" we have ever done! Remember to praise your puppy when they go where they are supposed to! Treats help, too! Good luck! And, be patient...try the "pottie" box. It works!!!!

With puppies you use the "age chart" for how long you are expecting them to "hold it". i.e., 2 months old, then 2 hours, 4 months, 4 hours, etc. First off, good luck with Yorkies. They are by far, my favorite dog, own several myself, but never could completely house train them. You might be luckier training him to use a "puppy pee pee pad" which you can buy at any pet store. The little dogs tend to get away with more because we "ewww and ahhh" them so much. I finally gave up. They let me know when they want to go out, but I can go to the mailbox and return and yup, pee in the kitchen, or on a shoe, etc. Good Luck and take really good care of your adorable tiny baby boy.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMPsf
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Small dogs are very hard to housetrain.
You need to be very persistant and consistent with him. Do not allow him to make mistakes.
Feed him his last meal around 4 or 5 pm depending on what time you go to bed. Take him out before bedtime and stay outside with him until he goes. He should then be able to hold it for the night. He will probably need to go out fairly early in the morning, around 6 or 6:30 am.

You are expecting WAY too much from this tiny puppy. A dog doesn't have control over their bladders until they are about 5-7 months old.
I have a Yorkie that is nmy best buddy, and have had numeruos dogs in the past and have found that the easiest way to house train them is to make sure they go out every two hours all day long, and to watch them and when you see them start to sniff around like they are going to go, don't scold them, just tell them in a happy voice that it is time to go out. Like around our house it is "side side time! Lets go boys!" Then pick them up and take them out and walk them around until they go. When they do go, praise them to high heaven, make sure they know they did something good.
At night it helps to confine them, gove them a place to sleep and papers to use for elimination.
It takes time and patience. My dogs are 5, 3, and almost a year and every once in a while they still have an accident. Like on the weekends when I like to sleep in and don;t get up early enough to let them out.
