Well, the easiest and most delicious way that I prepare the baked apples is in the microwave.
Core the apple
Place butter, brown sugar, cinnamon in the center
Sometimes I also add raisins or nuts.
Zap a minute or two.
Fast, easy and delicious.'

I make mine like this:
1 red delicious apple, cored. Add 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp brown sugar, 1/4 tsp raisins and 1/4 tsp walnuts to the hole where core was. Wrap in foil. Bake on cookie sheet 50 minutes @350º. You can also add butter and/or vanilla if you like a richer tasting apple, but I haven't found a much better recipe.

Normally, I cut each of apple into 8 pcs or so, with skin.
Cinnamon power, brown sugar, margerine, red wine dry cran. berries with leftover bread and milk.
Mix all together and bake in the oven...
Turn out a great yummy Apple pudding. I found Macintosh or Matsu is best.

I like to scoop out the middle (seeds etc.) and put in butter and brown sugar and cook until apple is soft.

Someone used to make them with red hots in the center when I was a child. Do not know how they made them, but they were great.
