No, although some passages from the Bible are translated/written in such a way that they give that impression. For example, Genesis 6:6 "And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." KJV.

See that word "repented"? Do not always assume that it means what you think it means.

God bless.

No! God is infinite and pure without any real quality or trait at all. All mistakes are relative. All mistakes are of a finite sort. The finite is also an illusion of the human mind. In other words what looks like a mistake here is purified at a higher level just by looking at things in a truer way. Each dimention of reality perfects the one before it, through a different and higher understanding you might say.

Someone made a comment...that God flooded the earth and promised he would never flood it again. Well, he promised to never destroy the ENTIRE Earth at ONE TIME with a flood ever again. He promised a lot of things. But humans broke their promise to serve God over and over again (the Old Testaent of th Bible is full of information about how the Israelites continuously failed God). God does not make mistakes. And the things like disasters and terrorist attacks?? God does not make happen. However, we don't listen and follow him. So he lets the 'enemy' aka. Satan, have his way with the world. God allows these to happen....and he wants us to turn to him....And by the way...

God IS the only perfect being...No one will ever be as perfect as God. And yes, God DID grieve a bit after he created Adam and Eve. He created Earth and human beings to live fruitful, fulfilling, happy lives....And instead we disobeyed and look at how crummy the world has turned out.

I don't think he ever comes out and says "I made a mistake." But, after the great flood that destroyed the entire earth and almost every human, he did say he would never flood the earth again like that. To me, that's an admittance of a mistake. But, I'm sure all the religious freaks on here don't consider that.

I'll add to the chorus - no way. As is said in some religious traditions - "Of all things God is knowing." He has perfect knowledge of things past, present and future and knows what is best to do. He can not make mistakes.

Ya know, I was just reading one other poster who quoted the Bible passage "God was grieved that He had made man..." and I think that's just not applicable to making mistakes.

I look at my beautiful girls, my precious little ones and know there is no way even God could call them a mistake. Perhaps you have to be a parent to understand, I don't know, but little children are so wonderful and precious, surely there can be no mistake about it, they are great!

I asked a similar question a while ago. If God is perfect enough to create sight, how can he not avoid blindness (or even nearsightedness)? If he's perfect enough to create the development of life within 9 months, how can he not avoid SIDS? If he can create a brain, how can he not avoid insanity?

Humans are incredibly complex, but then again so are cars. A car has tens of thousands of moving parts, and while overall they work pretty well they are imperfect either due to design or to materials. In regards to humans, if God's design or God's materials (which he is supposed to have created) are imperfect, then so must he be.

Just one idea to munch on.

No. God is perfect. We are proof. The Bible is proof. God also love you so he wouldn't make mistakes for that either. Not only does he not want to, he can't. He is God and we are merely human. Sure he gets angry but that isn't a sin. He loves us so much he sent his only son to die for us. I have accepted Christ and hope I meet more and more in heaven. Even though we get sicknesses and people in our family die, it is because of sin. Adam and Eve had their own choice not to eat the fruit but they chose to disobey and it was their free will. It was never, is never, never will be his fault. He does everything for a purpose. Jesus cares and God Bless! =D

God will is absolute. If he decides that such exists than it is so. Mistakes are of the mortal flesh and not the Holy Trinity. Everything is here for a reason and is part of the great plan of Our Lord.
