I love God and so I revere Him.
When the Bible talks about "fearing God" it doesn't mean fear as in horror movie being chased by monsters fear. The original text might more accurately being "in reverent awe" of God.
If someone really famous you admired invited you to hang out with them you would probably be pretty excited and maybe even a little nervous about meeting them. God is so much more than any famous person you might admire - He's the Creator of the Universe. Before you were born He knew your name.
He wants to hang out with you and have a personal relationship with you...that's exciting and maybe a little overwhelming. That is "fearing" God.

Well some of my Gods I fear. I don't like cower in a corner or anything but They make me really nervous. I love Them all though. I am closer to Some than Others. My favorites are Sekhmet, Heru-wer, and Hethert. The Ones that really make me nervous that I like the most are Set, Aset, and Bast. I love the rest but I don't know Them as well as these Gods

I love God and fear that God will not keep me on the right path to the point that my love for him is extinguished. What hope is left for me if I am denied His Mercy?

I love God and the fear only comes in with my own actions - just like a young child does not wish to displease his parents. (Not children who are physically abused - I am talking about those who want to make their parents happy and not see them cry)
Did you know that you can make God feel hurt, sad, or happy?
The times the the Israelites disobeyed God, he said that they grieved him.
Psalm 78:40: "How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!" (KJV)
