When your ankle falls asleep it is because you have put pressure on it and restricted the blood flow.
It takes a long time before you would need an amputation. The tingling sensation is the blood flowing back into your ankle.

I tried to walk down some steps once when my foot was asleep. It folded up and broke in two places. The only way I think your ankle could break is if you twisted it just the right way.

no it wont break unless u accidently step on it wrong because its numb. and if you mean will it fal off just from sitting on it the answer is no. but if ytou sit on it long enough the blood flow will stop and eventually it will die and you will have to get it removed but that would take a lot of sitting
