Personally i believe that a cordless phone would be safe during a thunderstorm but try not to drag out a long conversation if there is a serious thunder-storm outside.

Yes it's perfectly safe to use a cordless land line phone in a thunderstorm. Since you are not tethered to the mainline by a wire. The lightning cannot use the wireless signal as a conduit.

I know a woman who was hit just sitting on her front porch using a cordless during a thunderstorm. Took a while to recover.

While you are inside, yes it is safe.
For reasons I don't understand there is an increased risk of getting struck by lightning if you are using a cell phone outside. So I assume from this, that there may be an increased risk of getting struck by lightning if you use a cordless phone outside.

yes, you're fine. A cordless phone has no real connection to the phone line. If there is a problem, you may lose your connection, but you won't get hurt.

Yes. It is not, however, safe to use a landline during a thunderstorm. If the phone is directly plugged into the wall, then you will be electricuted if lightning strikes it.

Nope.
Cordless phone release an ultra sound that way you're connected with the Main device of the Phone.
I prefer that you start using the Corded Phone, where you do not need any batteries to run, no charging.

YES. There is nothing connecting you physically to the phone line or the power line so it is safe.
