I am getting married next week. When I booked the flight for the honeymoon, I used my finacee's new name even though her license hasn't been changed. Will a copy of the marriage certificate be enough to get her on the plane? (It won't be notarized)

No. You need to have the tickets under your name exclusively or under her maiden name. I realize that you want her to travel with you as Mr. & Mrs. New Name, but she cannot until her license has changed. If you are leaving late enough on the date of the flight get to the license bureau early with the wedding license and get her a new license. Good luck.

Yikes! No, it won't be enough. Even if it were notarized, proof of marriage is not proof that her name has changed. Her ID needs to be same name as the tickets. Besides, you won't have a copy of the marriage license, notarized or not, because it has to go to the county right after its signed so that it can become notarized. You need to contact the airlines and have them issue a new ticket with her real name.

It most likely will be. What you should do is see if they can make a sheriff's ID for her or if you can get a notarized copy. Or call the airline and ask their advice. If you are going overseas, you want it in her maiden name (it may be $25 or so to change it). In the US you should be fine.

Good Luck!

No, you have to have real identification, no newly married woman travels under her new name. You can't get a passport or driver's license that fast. You need to call the airline and change the reservation.

go to a notary before your flight and they can do the name change for you right there.
