Maybe, maybe not. Do you really want to label yourself. You are practicing what you believe, and labeling is essentially self done as a way to choose sides, Labels are part of the problem, everyone fighting over who is wrong or right instead of dedicating themselves to God they are in fact dedicating themselves to their "group" instead. I commend you and wish people of all faiths to to the same for themselves and the world. No one else will take your last breath but you and you should be content will your life and relationship with god, not your relationship with a church, but with god.

Well Gorgeous, ask yourself the following questions:
1. How much do I really know about this God that I believe in?
2. What is worship?
3. How do I worship this God that I believe in?
4. Am I doing what He wants me to do in order to Worship Him?
And since you say that you believe that Jesus Christ was a prophet, you should also ask yourself what a prophet is.
Now answer the question for yourself, "Are you a Christian?" While you are thinking about it Gorgeous, you should also ask yourself if you are truly a Believer.
Best wishes,
H

I am sorry, but you are not a Christian. To be a Christian, you have to believe that Jesus is more than just a prophet, that He is the True Son of God. When we repent of our sins and believe that God sent Jesus to pay for our sins by dying in our place and that God raised Jesus from the dead, then God will give the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is the Holy Ghost that makes us Christians, Christ like, not we ourselves. Anything else is just an imataion. We need God's Spirit living in us, otherwise He will say, "Depart from me, I never knew you."

In a sense, no. One of the basic themes of Christianity is accepting Jesus as the Christ or Messiah, not a mere prophet. The other point is accepting this man through faith and as such, as a spiritual Saviour to enter Heaven. Otherwise, you're just a good-hearted humanist. Get my drift?

No you don't have to carry a label to love the Lord or worship God!!
But you do have to do far more than this: if you wish to reach heavens door, & get through it!!!
Like learning more about 'Jesus' & the fact he was far more than a prophet!!
If you really are interested in the answer to this question, and many more of the same... take a look here and do some study:-

God bless & keep you... but more... lead you to the truth in Jesus name... Amen!!!

I'm a Christian too, every one is different and believe in different religions because that's just them and there back ground,I believe in what you have said in that paragraph, and yes each person have a religion they believe in but some people just don't believe in anything but living, dying, and being born again to a new person, but yes you are right,it seems like people label them self with different religions but that's them.

Based on what you have stated in your question, no, you are not considered a Christian.
Jesus is indeed a prophet, but He is SO MUCH MORE !
Read John 4; the story of the Samaritan women Jesus met at the well.

John 4:19 (New International Version)
19"Sir," the woman said, "I can see that you are a prophet.
... AND WHAT JESUS REPLIED?
John 4:25-26 (New International Version)
25The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us."
26Then Jesus declared, "I who speak to you am he."
.. THIS IS WHAT JESUS ANSWERED.. so He is more than a prophet,, HIS BODY WILL BE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.. HE IS THE CHRIST..
anyway your doing good.. but as a christian you should read more about the bible

Your way of thinking sounds great and I wish your take on God and religion was the same as a lot more people, but this is not traditionally how most people think. But who is to say that these people are completely right.
I recommend a couple of books to help you with this struggle between what stereotypical christian theology thinks, and what true Christianity believes and the way it should be.

You may be a better "Christian" then some who don't follow Christ's teaching on loving God AND your neighbour, even if he/she is your enemy.
What does the Lord require of me but to do justice and to love kindness!
God is Love! Love is the answer - whatever the question.
