Do some research online according to areas of interest that you want to major in and also WHERE you would like to live for the next four years. After choosing 5 or 6 schools, I would recommend that you VISIT each college and talk to the students to get the REAL story on all aspects of college life there. Good luck!

I had the same question as you when i started looking at colleges a couple years ago. DEF go to a2zcolleges.com it's the best website around to search colleges. All you have to do is click on a major, then you can click on a map of any state in the U.S. A whole bunch of colleges come up and you can click on one of those to check things like the tuition rate, teacher to student ratio, location, phone numbers, academics, and it has the website to the college as well. Check it out. Good luck!

go to either www.collegeboard.com or www.princetonreview.com. These two sites will help you by giving you a list of colleges that have good programs that have to do with what you want to do. They will give you the location of the college (rural, suburban, urban) population of the school, majors, and some avg SATs and ACT scorers, and student to teacher ratio. They are very helpful websites.

I suggest to start looking in your local area as in state tuition is always cheaper, plus you an drive home for visits easily to do your laundry and eat when necessary.
