I have two male dogs one is neutered and the other is not. The neutered one is slightly smaller than the other, the unneutered dog tends to get aggressive with the other and often marks his territory in the house. Will neutering him eleminate these behaviors?

The urine marking: yes
Aggressive behavior: No, that is your job to be a strong pack leader and teach your dog how you want it to behave.
Cutting off the testes will also decrease your dogs risk of cancer.

Neutering should help to curb the aggression, it's all the male dog hormones getting in the way of having a dog that will get along with the smaller one.
Once the aggression has subsided, the territory marking may require a little more work on your part. You must deodorize the soiled areas to completely eliminate the scent. Check at Petsmart for a product that will guarantee results. Your work's not over yet, you may have retrain him, but it shouldn't be a big deal, just a very stern NO and he should get the message. In fact as soon as you see him trying to lift his leg, tell him NO and take him outside.

Eliminate completely? No. But it will help quite a bit. Add to that patience and obedience training and you will be good. There is a big difference between neutered and unneutered dogs, which you have already observed.

Neutering him may or may not eliminate these behaviors, it really depends on the individual dog. I have known an instance where the dog was VERY hyper and aggressive and after been neutered was still VERY hyper and aggressive; but in some cases it does calm them down. . .so it just depends, no guarantees. . .

it depends on how old the dog is. i have two brothers, (both intact). they pee in the house when they are left alone. they have to be crated if we are gone for any length of time. if the behavior is already instilled in them, if will be difficult to break. the aggressiveness is a dominance thing. he is being the "dominanant male" after all his friend has no b--ls.! sorry to be so blunt, but dogs live in a alpha world. and the one with the biggest ones, even if he is smalller is going to be the most dominant. around here, with two intact males, I am the dominant female.....take charge....be the one to boss them, and don't take their puupy eyed crap.....that they are so good at giving. ***to tell the truth, my dh and I are very well trained. Hope this helps ~ Sherry

Neutering will certainly go a long ways in helping the situation, plus will be healthier for your dog. It may not eliminate it entirely since it may be an ingrained habit and proper training will also need to happen.

The agressive behavior will most likely cease.... or ur dog might just dislike the other smaller one. He most likey marks everything to show that he is bigger and better than your other dog. It is not unusual for dogs, especially males, to mark things. He will probably stop marking things after he's "fixed". He'll probably be a calmer friendlier dog!
Good luck

Depends on age and personality. Talk to your vet. They know your dog better than we do.

In my personal experience it has stopped these behaviors in more cases than it hasn't stopped.

It may help, especially if he is still a young dog. If he is older, then its probably more behavioural at this point than hormonal.

It might help out but it depends on his age. He might have some bad habits now that you will have to deal with.
