Why are people rascist of fat people?

It's called predjudice, not rascist. Anyway, many people like to try to project an image of superiority. In their minds they are probably lying to themselves thinking they are better than a fat person. It is their own personal problem of predjudice and no one elses. Don't listen to irrational and unrealistic people such as these.

People are people and dislike anything that is different. Being thin or fat doesn't make the person better than the other. I do believe that some obese people are that way because of a medical problem. Sometimes medications can put weight on. There can be a number of reasons why people are obese. I don't think people stop to ask why they are that way, they judge the book by the cover and look no further.

There are a percentage of obese people that are that way because they choose to be that. They love food and allow themselves to get that way. It doesn't matter what the reason is people will always judge someone on that first look. Its sad but true.

I'm afraid people just see obese people as not attractive and hard to look at. Today there is so much you can do to keep in shape. If you are physically able. I think most people feel there should be no excuse for anyone being obese.

I think most people consider it a personality or character defect instead of a health problem. Most people think someone is heavy because he or she wants to be. "Just eat less." "Get more exercise." It is not always that easy.

I have a friend who I spend much time with. She eats much less than i do. We do a lot of the same physical activity. She works and I don't, so she is much more active during the day. Yet she is much heavier. She also has diabetes.

Sometimes obesity is a health problem or something the person cannot help. No one wants to be obese. Don't these people think that obese people would be thin if they could be?

Good question, but no good answer because people who are bigoted toward obese people will not be honest about it.

Try this, which is the normal type? Fat or non-fat? Of course it's not fat people who are the majority in this world. And like anybody else, the majority discriminates against the minority, like white against black. Though, fat people can be the best if you find someone with an identity, cheerfulness and wacky.

unless this world really has gone down the toilet, fatties are not yet a race. Although with Bush as prez, who the heck knows nowadays what crazy stuff is going on. Therefore, I am not rascist. I do not care at all what color you are or where you are from. I do care if you do nothing to take care of your body and scare others into eating disorders. People are PREDJUDICED of fat people because they eat all they want, while several starving people or animals could have been saved from the same food. Fat is voluntary, nationality is just in the luck of the draw. Also, fat people that where tight or revealing clothes or bikinis are kinda gross to look at. Most of all, several people become anorexic or bulimic even when they are thin for fear of looking like fat people. And wake up and smell the coffee, because we skinny minnys are discriminated against too!

Why do people do it? Some people are insecure and it makes them feel better to make fun of others. Some people are just rude, nasty people.

I personally don't think it's right to look at someone with a bit of fat and think anything at all about it.... it's their choice just like they can choose hairstyle or clothing color. I might not be thrilled to see someone who is under 30, is 425 lbs and is so heavy they need oxygen to walk... I feel bad for them. They'll be dead in a few years. :-(

Ok first off the grammar of your question is TOTALLY incorrect. It should read, " Why are people predjudicial of fat people?" Racism is hatred of a specific skin color. Second off, define "FAT"? Are we talking hugely obesse or slightly chunky? Lastly, what you must understand is that EVERYONE is prejudice against something! Every person has a different idea of what's "normal". And by nature, people do not like things that they consider outside the norm. It doesn't make it right, it just makes it true.

First of all I don't like the word Fat I like to use the term obese. I'm not against obese people but I feel that a lot of people eat because their nerves are bad; or it's hereditary. There are a lot of other reasons as well. Food is a comfort to people. You know---like a blanket. Then there are obese people who eat because they're just greedy. I use to be like a size 20-22 in women's clothing and I' down to a 14 in size. But I drop my weight from living in Texas. The temperature there is just a few Fahrenheits lower then hell. Thank God I back with the 4 seasons!

There's probably a lot of hostility from the heavy people towards the thin people, too. I guess there's too many people who get worked up about things they don't need to. Too bad all those people don't realize that we should care about more important things, like how people treat each other instead of how they look.

I don't know. All I know is that it is really hard to find the whole package in a thin female. I've met a lot of people and those who are overweight are the smartest, wittiest, nicest and with more morals, no offense to the thin ones but omg its true!! The friends I have that are a little overweight are so beautiful because they have everything I mentioned above plus good looks and all they really need is to lose the weight and that is it. I just feel that GOD makes us a certain way so that we can learn to love ourselves.
