I want to see if there is such thing as "liberal christians", you know, ones that don't hate gays or want to kill athiests.

I'm a conservative. Just because I don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle doesn't mean that I hate them - there's a big difference. And just because I don't agree with atheism doesn't mean that I want to kill them. You need to get your facts straight before stepping up on your soapbox next time.

I'm a liberal christian. I also belive that when God comes again the first words out of his mouth to all those ultra conservative christians is going to be "What were you thinking? Is this what you thought the bible meant? All of the good messages in there and this is what you got out of it?" I believe in gay rights because it's equality for everybody, the bible does say we are not to judge, and that means under no circumstances are we to judge. We can share the word of God but we can't condemn anybody. I also have no issues with athiests. Athiests aren't out there to destroy christianity, they don't believe in any God or gods. Most athiets are pretty neutral when it comes to religion, despite what is coming across on here. I also believe in evolution. Can you tell me how long a day is to God? In the bible it says the world was created in 7 days, and this is through the Holy Ghost inspiring the writers, so maybe the only way the people writing the bible could fathom that amount of time was to put it down as a day. A day to God might be a million years, we have no idea. To say God fits our time table and idea of time is absurd. It also says in the bible that God made eveything perfect, as he did. Now by perfect could this mean that God gave all creatures the ability to adapt and therefor through evolution they are perfect. The ability to adapt to any environment and challenge seems pretty perfect to me. I have some issues with organized religion though. how is it that the Catholic religion just decides one day to get rid of pergatory? And how come i am going to hell in a catholics mind because I don't pray to the saints. People who were people. Praying to a saint is like saying that God can't make his own decisions, that he needs advice from people. If God is omnipotent, all knowing, then my prayers were answered before the world was even created, and therefore doesn't need the advice of humans. And because I disagree with that I'm going to hell? There are so many questions, I don't see how figuring out if you are liberal or conservative really matters. What if you choose to be one or other not based on religion at all. What if I just don't like the practices of republicans, with all the big business and corruption for example.

I am a Christian and a Democrat. I am liberal on some issues and conservative on others. I certainly don't hate Gay's or want to kill atheists. I have friends who are gay and friends who are atheists, I love all mankind, but being human, I stumble from time to time. God Bless!!

I'm Conservative, but an open minded one. I don't think guys are bad, but rather see them as physically deformed. The ones i dislike are constantly trying to shove there crap down my throat as if it is normal, and its not.

I don't want to kill atheists unless they force there beliefs on me or the society i live in.

I'm a Christian, but i only believe in the very core of the religion, because i think the rest was put there to simplify what god said is true, and many people take it out of context. But the core of the religion cant be taken out of contex.

I am liberal to a certain extent....killing atheist? no, they have just as much right to be here as the people who believe in God. Homosexuals? I think they lead a sinful lifestyle but we are all sinners in the sight of God. Is their sin greater than mine? No, For all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Only Christ can cover our sinfulness and make us acceptable before God. I am no better or worse than anyone else, I am the best me I can be, I leave the rest up to God.

I am conservative. :) But mind you, not all conservative people hate gays or want to kill athiests. That is only your perspective on the majorty. There are those whose fears will allow them to fall into the trap of acting hateful, but deep down...they don't hate. They only misunderstand and fear.

Ahhh yes the mighty words of Yoda come to mind right now....

"Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."

Those whom you see as hateful are suffering just as all of us are...even we Christians. It is a struggle to not sin, even when we choose Jesus. Because we battle our flesh daily, and flesh is sin.

But besides this, it comes down to this...I am conservative, and I am thankful I am.

I am a christian but I think I am liberal because i am not a judgemental, I respect every people's choice of lifestyle and beliefs as I want them to respect me too! We don't have to please each other just to gain respect and be called the perfect one but we must respect and live with our own life as well as to enjoy life as everyone of us will face the consequences, that is why we all given free well and became the most intilligent animal!Belief is a matter of choice!

Depends on the subject or in relation to something or someone else I suppose. It's rather relative.

Politically, I'm a centrist. I guess you could say that fits religiously as well.
