Get something that will mean something to the bridesmaids and remind them of you and your time together. For the groom, that is tough. I bought my husband a silver chain, he is not allowed to wear his wedding band at work - safety concerns, so he put his ring on the chain and can wear if he wants to or not.

An idea for the bridesmaids ... engraved photo frames that read their name - Bridesmaid and on the bottom of the frame the date of the wedding . For the groom, a nice idea is to take a favourite photo of the two of you to an artist and have them sketch it in pencil, matted on white, and framed in black. Makes for a lovely traditional wedding coloured gift. Some other good ideas for the Groom should come from something sacred or special to the two of you ... If you love going to a particular park or place, maybe compile a scrapbook of memories or a jar of trinkets from those places. For example - if it is a playground you love going to ... You could buy a little plain photo box, and paste pictures of the park on the outside of the box, and inside place rocks and sand and trinkets from the park ... Gifts for the Groom should be very much from the heart.

I am getting married in July of 2007, and I am planning to get each of my bridesmaids an oval silver compact engraved with their names. I am also getting a cute candle with " Thank you for being my bridesmaid and my friend on the outside." Just an idea.
As far as the groom, I am getting a Swiss Army pocket watch engraved with out wedding date.
I think the best gifts are the most personal and the ebgraving is so personal....it lets your ladies and groom know that you really care enough to make them feel special!!
CONGRATS Lady!!

We got the adults in our wedding party a bottle of their favorite liqour or a really nice bottle of wine. Everyone was in their mid to late 30s and over the engraved gift thing. They loved it. For the groom something personal like an engraved watch would be nice.

I gave my girls matching necklaces to wear in the wedding and matching pewter fairy key-chains. I don't think I've ever seen any of them wear the necklace, but I see the key-chains every time I see them. I think the best gift you can give the groom is to have his wedding band engraved. If y'all have already discussed that I think you'll have to think of his interests and get him something fabulous along those lines. For instance, I got my husband a lake fishing pole. He loves to fish and he had wanted one for quite a while but did not get it because we were saving to pay for our wedding. I cut a few corners here and there to give him what he was sacrificing. Put some thought into it, you'll be glad you did!
