For those mom's over 30 (who still have kids at home that you support) If you could get a scholarship to complete a training program up to a bachelor's degree, would you return to school and what would you go for?

Also, what is your age and how many kids do you support
What do you do for a living now?
Are you in school now?
If not, what has kept you from going to school?

I am 39, and going to school. I get financial aide because I am a single mother. I am the mother of one most amazing 4yr old who is quite the hand full, have too many pets and an incredibly difficult roomate. I also work part time at the school. It is very difficult but it is an opportunity. These days a degree is very necessary, if there is a way to do it, do it. Nothing good in life comes easy, or so they say.

YES, GO BACK TO SCHOOL and get that education. It'll be hard at first with you supporting 2 kids but you'll manage somehow and it'll be so worth it in the end. It's already paid for so what are you waiting for?!? I went to college (financial aid) for only 1 semester before I had any kids and I never went back because I had an existing loan and they wouldn't put me through. I had to 1st pay the loan off which took me 2 years and I just never went back. Bad move on my part! I wanted to become a pharmacist but had to go through 6 years med school and I just couldn't afford it. I now have 2 kids and I am currently working part-time. I work as a merchandiser and just about anyone can do this. I make my own hours and days as long as it's done within a certain time frame. A merchandiser is a great side job for that extra $$. Please, don't make the same mistake I did. Go and get that degree!

I'm 33 and man, I wish someone would pay my way! lol

I'm in school 3/4 time. I have student loans to pay off once I'm done. I have a 9 year old and a 15-month old. Hubby makes just enough so that I can get away with not working part time as well, but it's tight right now. Can't wait for that degree... NOTHING will deter me from my path. I would not return to school until my children are out of the home. I am a 32 yr old Single Mom taking care of 3 children, I work for social services for the state. I am not currently in school. I have guilt already that I am not there for my kids as much as other mom's-- because I work, I could not possibly go back to school right now. Of course I am sure when the kids are older and not so dependent on me it would be easier for me to take a class or two.

I completed my degree in early elementary education last year when I was 32. It took about 7 yrs to finish because of financial reasons, moving because of the military, and raising 3 kids.

I got a job last year as a kindergarten teacher.

I went back to college at 39; and don't regret it for a second. However, not all of it was paid for. If you can go and have it paid for, I suggest you take the opportunity!

I have two teenagers at home, and I am still in school fulltime.
