That would be the night I can out of the broom closet. My father was furious that I was walking away from Christianity. He really tried to get me into a verbal fight and I refused. He finally got so mad that he hauled off and punched me in the chops.
I was 23 years old at the time.
I threw most of my stuff back in my suitcase, (I was visiting my parents) and left. I didn't reinitiate contact for about 3 years.
It was an ugly, ugly night. I made some serious mistakes.

I use to be with a group that preached on the streets. Sometimes we were verbally abused. Also, as a christian mother trying to raise my children right, there was some physical attacks on my children and me. There have been several situations in which people have been very hostile toward me and I could find no reason for it other than because I lived a Christian life. Sometimes the abuse would be from some of my own family members. Jesus said that all that would live godly in Him would suffer persecution.

Yes, I have. While I live over in Europe. I lived there for 10 years.
I did enjoy Europe for the most part. My first few years in Germany were rough. I had just settled there with my family. I was just meeting locals my own age. We actually lived in old
NAZI housing complex, near one of the old "Camps". Most of the people my age that lived near me were gypsies and some Turks, Iranians, Slavs, Irish, a mixed bag really, some Germans. I am an American with Gypsie and Irish decent, I got a long will all the people in my neighborhood. Now a lot of young Germans most from the Eastern side, hated these people. Me an two of my Gypsies friends we jumped a few times by them. One even hit me with a car once, luckily I was all right. I had German friends, West German friends, who helped me out. I eventually had to flee Germany and headed to Prague where I chilled for a while.
This was a time of turmoil in Europe but mostly in Germany, bring the East into the fold was a lot more painful than the media ever gave due. I love Europe, I'd live there again, but it isn't the place most Americans think that it is. It is a different place when you aren't a tourist, it is a lot harder to live there than it is in America.

YEah I had this "mama bear" come on and ask me to RESTATE...but she did not have a spoon full of VEGAN pourage.....at least right there... and so well there is no need to restate.
VEGANISM is not about "belief" it is really about higher understanding.... it is a way of life... just like there once use to not be a law against slavery(and now there is) I believe the people will rise and put VEGAN LAW into place..... one way or another... I mean I would hope people do not have to be "forced" I hope they will respond on their own recognizance.

ps (I would have just contacted you via contact but your message indicator is not open) I guess some people don't want to be contacted and that is their rightful choice on this level.... maybe you would get too many messages or maybe you'd get whack jobs posting in....
Freedom of belief is like any other FREEDOM, as long as you are NOT wrongfully infringing upon another well then you should be able to believe what ever you want....

My parents attacked me and my religion after I converted to Judaism. For 30plus years this went on, with my father often saying they should line the Jews up and shoot them all, as they had stolen his child. The always said bad things about my religion and pushed me to go back to the christian church-of course, this I will never do. They could not believe anyone was any good unless they were Christians.
These are th only people who ever attacked me for my beliefs.

Someone dinged my car door with their door at the DMV. In 3 1/2 years I haven't had a single ding. It's going to cost me $100 to have it pushed out from the inside. They did it because I just put a Darwin Fish on the bumper. Of course I have no evidence and the culprit's car was gone when I returned.

A number of times. I've had an entire room screaming at me and calling me possessed once. I've been physically assaulted twice. I've been harangued, pitied, commented on, gossiped about, and had property of mine destroyed by "good Christian folk". All this for simply saying that I don't believe.

No. Why would they? I know it happens, but usually it seems like Christians are the ones "attacking" others. That is the sad truth, being a Christian myself

I've been called a heathen and told that i would burn in hell for not believing in God. I know their religion requires them to let me know that I'm am misled. My family is Jehovah's Witnesses and they always attack my beliefs in religion and politics.
