I want to make a music CD, I know how to burn a CD, but not sure what Ripping is?

Ripping is when you take a CD that has music on it and "rip" the songs off of it onto your computer.

Ripping is copying music from a CD to your computer.
Burning is writing anything to a CD (music or data).
You can rip with software like audiograbber.
Roxio can both rip & burn CDs.

Ripping means the programme converts say a music CD to Mp3 format. From there you can burn back onto a CDR back into original format. You can make your own collection of songs this way. ITunes from Apple does this and is fun and free

Ripping is taking FROM a cd.
Burning is CREATING a cd.
