Just curious as to their shelf life, er, hanging basket life. How long can they sit in the aerated basket before they absolutely must be used? One week, two weeks?

I would say two-three weeks. I have kept them in my crisper drawer in the refrigerator for about a month & used them - they were still great!

You should be good for at least 2 weeks, maybe three. If they start sprouting sizeable eyes, throw them out.
